Having talked to people from WotC at GenCon, I would not expect a Dragon Riding Fighter subclass. The main reason for the change is less “the lore change is bad” and more “Fighters shouldn’t be reliant on a pet to fight good,” from my understanding.

No, there’s a regional gazette in the Heroes book that isn’t the same as the 5 mini settings. That gazette reportedly covers 10 regions of the world for players to familiarize themselves with the setting. The mini settings and the adventures are in the DMs book and are separate from this.

GenCon. I attended and played a preview adventure using the Banneret. They lost their dragon pet.

My understanding is the 50+ adventures are not specifically tied to the player gazette in the Heroes book. Most are tied to the 5 main mini-settings with some either being generic to be placed anywhere or in a place where they can be changed to a new area.

We did 5 adventures at the preview event, one for each region. All level 3. Baldur’s Gate - investigated a murder down by the docks. Calimshan - escorted a Caravan to Calimport and recovered a stolen item. Icewind Dale - investigated the mysterious disappearance of a fisher in Ten Towns...

The ones I saw were detailed and in color.

IIRC it had Weapon Masteries. We didn’t play long enough for them to really come up but I’m pretty sure the weapon cards listed masteries on them

Not a coincidence. Each adventure preview I saw from the book had a map attached to it.

I only did the 20 minute demo to see it in action. Was a simple bandit encounter in the woods, nothing too exciting. But the player cards were easy to read and the monster ones are well layed out. All in all it felt like playing D&D, just made more accessible.

I previewed the box set at GenCon. Each class has two boards, one which has level 1 on one side and level 2 on the other, and the second board with level 3.

They were in a suite in GenCon.

They already confirmed the PDK are in the book and that they are a full faction you can join and gain renown for. They were not a small part of the book nor were they easy to cut out.

Considering the faction in the books still have a relationship with Amethyst Dragons but now the players don’t get to participate with the subclass, I am sure they will be over the moon.
