    D&D 5E (2024) Class Iconic Art in the 2024 Player's Handbook

Also, the Wizard Icon confirmed as an Aasimar. We knew already but the “Cone of Cold” art featuring her specifically calls her out as Aasimar.

    D&D 5E (2024) I just got a 2024 PHB From Gen Con. AMA!

Finally got to check, no. They still use your PB for their saving throws. They use your Wisdom Mod and your Spellcasting mod for their attacks and the attacks saves (like the sea beasts grapple DC), respectively.

    D&D 5E (2024) I just got a 2024 PHB From Gen Con. AMA!

I don’t remember and I’m at work right now without the book on me. I’ll check when I get home.

It’s more like they are trained. A well trained dog doesn’t act until commanded. The same is true here.

They work as they did in Tasha’s, aka you use a BA or one of your attacks to command them to use their action. At level 7, they can use an action and a bonus action when you command them.

They are largely the same as Tasha’s but use Wis mod instead of Prof mod of the Ranger.

Yes, the Goliath in the far left is a Hill Giant lineage, as is the Goliath in the Spiritual Weapon art iirc.

Got my copy last night thanks to Gen Con friends. Gorgeous book.

    D&D 5E (2024) Class Iconic Art in the 2024 Player's Handbook

I have the book now (thank you Gen Con), and I can confirm the Lore Bard and Psi Warrior are both human. I think the Life Cleric is also but that’s harder. All the confirmed Hill Goliath art has them with yellow skin so I think Life Domain is just a larger human man. Oh and the Open Hand Monk...

    D&D 5E (2024) I just got a 2024 PHB From Gen Con. AMA!

The general idea is Saving Throws are to avoid something being done to you. Skill checks are to do something actively. So to avoid being grappled, it’s a save. To try and break the grapple, it’s a check. Once framed that way it makes sense and isn’t confusing at all.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Background and Origin Feat Article

My best guesses are Skilled, Magic Initiate Wizard, and maybe Crafter? Honestly I’m not sure. Crafter is on Artisan, but not Merchant. Merchant gets Lucky. Its page was shown in one of the preview videos.

Merchant has Lucky. It’s been confirmed in one of the preview videos when they showed the Merchant page.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Background and Origin Feat Article

To be clear, I’m not guessing. We’ve got confirmation on a few of these (Guard, Wayfarer, Noble, Merchant, Hermit, and Sage) and the rest are based on the playtest feats given to the backgrounds. Sage is the only background that both didn’t appear in the playtest and we haven’t see official...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Background and Origin Feat Article

We know some of these already, but this should be close to accurate: Acolyte - Magic Initiate Cleric Charlatan - Skilled Artisan - Crafter Criminal - Alert Entertainer - Musician Guard - Alert Farmer - Tough Guide - Magic Initiate Druid Hermit - Healer Noble - Skilled Merchant - Lucky Sage -...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D species article

The elf complaints make 0 sense. In 2014, High Elves got a single cantrip and training in four weapons. In 2024, they keep the cantrip and instead of weapons they basically never used they get two of the best spells in the game (Detect Magic and Misty Step). In 2014, Wood Elves got the same...
