    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

Also of note, we’ve seen the Iconic Cleric (Dwarf), the Iconic Bard (Tiefling), plus Dance (Human), Valor (Dragonborn), and Glamour (Elf). Halfling, Goliath, and Orc are definitely going to be underrepresented.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

    Still missing one Monk (Open Hand) but here’s the breakdown so far: Human - 10 Elf - 8 Dragonborn - 6 Dwarf - 5 Gnome - 5 Aasimar - 4 Tiefling - 3 Orc - 3 Goliath - 3 Halfling - 2

    Mercy is Human, I believe.

And the discussion is perfectly fine. But it should stay in the Ranger forums, both here and in spaces like Reddit and YouTube. It bleeding over into other class discussions is frustrating.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

As they should. The video is about a different class. There are plenty of places to talk about the Ranger, including in the Ranger video that is still up on their YouTube page. The Ranger discourse is out of control as it is and needs to stop dominating every part of the revision discussions.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

They consider the Wild Magic table as the "extended" list, it seems. I'd wager you're right, something like Divine Soul may not get them because they can pick Cleric spells.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

The Darkvision spell doesn’t allow you or allies to see in your magical darkness anyway. Also, Elements Monk is most certainly better. I understand what you mean about the mechanical flexibility, but nothing in the 4-elements monk subclass was as powerful, pound for pound, as being able to...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

They lost Darkvision the spell because the subclass just gives you Darkvision as a feature now. Also, the subclasses did not regress. Even if you somehow think Shadow is worse now (it isn’t), Elements and Open Hand got such big boosts that they more than make up for it.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Rogue"

I stand corrected! This certainly makes me more convinced the iconic Wizard is as well. Now just got to figure out what the Psi Warrior art is 😂 currently I think MAYBE a Hill Giant Goliath? Idk they remind me of the old fairy tale giants.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Ranger"

Most rogues aren’t picking Survival and Nature for their expertise. On top of that, Rogues don’t have the utility spells that Rangers have for exploration. So yes, Ranger will be better at exploration that the average rogue.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Ranger"

This is false. Since the PHB was released in 2014, Ranger had 14 spells added to the game. Of those, Beast Bond, Zephyr Strike, Summon Beast, Healing Spirit, Guardian of Nature, Steel Wind Strike, and Wrath of Nature are clearly designed for Ranger and/or Druid specifically, with Zephyr...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Ranger"

This! The Ranger is in such a good place but everyone is ignoring it because of Hunters Mark. And honestly, a Ranger focusing on Hunters Mark is still very good in combat and doing what the Ranger should do, which is single target damage. Every Subclass gives you damage boosts at 3rd and...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Ranger"

Maybe unpopular opinion: I actually like the Ranger. Sure, the capstone could be better. But overall I think they nailed it. Hunters Mark as a core class feature is fine and how most players play the class anyway. If you were playing a melee Ranger, you were already taking Resilient Con or...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

I got a little impatient and put together a list of the species distribution so far (this includes all the deep dive videos but also the Ranger because we have seen all 5 of those art pieces in other videos already). Human - 8 Elf - 7 Dragonborn - 4 Aasimar - 4 Dwarf - 4 Gnome - 4 Tiefling - 3...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

Should be noted all three of those characters in the spell art are major character. Laeral Silverhand (the open lord of Waterdeep), Vajra Safahr (the Blackstaff/High Mage of Waterdeep and also on the Monster Manual cover), and Drizzt.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

Go read the Beyond Wizard article. The Abjurer is in there for some reason. A dwarf man with an eyepatch. Also pretty sure the Tiefling Diviner is a woman.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: Shape of "New Druid"

Ah yes, let’s pass judgement on the Moon Druid before seeing the new and (hopefully) improved beasts in the Monster Manual (or hell, even the ones in the PHB). Moon Druid will be fine as long as it has 2-3 good best forms at each CR it can transform into. How about we hold off before...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: Shape of "New Druid"

Gonna need a full breakdown once we see everything so we know how well each species did in representation.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Warlock"

That likely would mean there’s 2-3 choices for the Eldritch Adept feat and no more. Then what’s the point of having the feat at all? Honestly people picking the three Pacts as a feat isn’t a big deal. Pact of the Blade is only giving them a Charisma based weapon, which only Paladin and maybe...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Warlock"

So: Archfey Elf Fiend Tiefling Great Old One Human Celestial Aasimar Also maybe or maybe not the first Aasimar class art we have seen, depending on how you view the Soulknife and the Iconic Wizard.
