Remember that before the first baseball expansion (in 1961, IIRC?), there were only 16 Major League teams, so winning the WS was theoretically a 1-in-16 shot. Now there are about 30 teams, so theoretically winning a title is that much harder (and with several expansion teams already having won...
GO CRAZY!!!
Finally the 10th WS title for the storied NL Franchise, continuing the tradition of Rogers Hornsby, Grover Alexander, Dizzy Dean and the Gashouse Gang, Stan the Man, Bob Gibson, and the Wizard.
Cards go up 3-1. Taking advantage of sloppy fielding by Detoit.
Still not over yet. St. Louis was up 3-1 against detroit in 1968 and lost, and that was when they had the unbeatable Bob Gibson. But things sure look good.
GO CARDS!!!
I remember reading that the RuneQuest game from Mongoose publishing would have support for the Lankhmar setting. Is that correct? Which book is supposed to have it?
I'm in the Fantasiapelit FLGS in Helsinki and they have the D&D Boardgame, published by Parker Brothers (I believe, do they exist any more?). It is not available in the US i believe. Anyone know how it is?
What other boardgames might offer a similar experience?
I've got another movie which I cannot remember the name of.
It's a fantasy film set during WWII in Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe-Romania I believe. A German patrol comes across an old citadel, which seems abandoned. They eventually find a door to a wierd plane or something.
The film's got...
They both sound good. I've put them on my wish list. Apparently the Richard Greene series is available for download at 2 dollars per ep from the Amazon.com site. Looks like that's only for US customers.
Hmm, well, I'll probably just be satisfied with my well-watched copy of Errol Flynn's R'Hood. Wasn't there a British Robin Hood tv series in the 60s or 70s? Is it worth tracking down?
So, you don't rate it all that highly? I was looking forward to this, though I'm not sure how I can watch it--probably have to try to get DVDs later on I suppose. You say it's aimed at a pretty young audience?
The irony of this little exchange is that Pachelbel's Canon isn't that well known in Russia. It appears it became a well-known tune in the West in the 1970s after being relatively obscure earlier. The USSR being quite cut off from the West as far as entertainment goes at that time, Pachelbel's...
I'd replace "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves" with better versions of the Robin Hood story. Errol Flynn's Robin Hood or perhaps Douglas Fairbank's silent version.
A few of random films to throw out:
Flatliners
The Name of the Rose
The Big Sleep
I assume you've not included Star Wars and Indiana...

Could we discuss the criteria for this list?
So far we have geeky fantasy films. Why is Robin Hood Prince of Thieves there, or any Mel Brooks film, if we're talking about fantasy films?
I heard on a recent podcast I listen to (All Games Considered IIRC, or maybe somewhere else) that they've released a director's cut to this movie actually.
