Amazon.com no more for game purchases: Hypothetical...

If there were no Amazon or Buy.com I'd probably switch to FRPGames.com, EN World Game store, etc. It's not just price to me--I do most of my ordering online. Ebay would also be considered.

Which classic modules should get the Expedition treatment?

So many. I focused on mods that have received no 3e treatment thus far (most of them:() Against the Giants, Caves of Chaos, D1-3, Desert of Desolation series (which never got a 'return to' module in 2e like many classics did), Slavelords, and the Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun. One that I...

Greatest Character Showdown Round 6 (Results IN)

Well, I hardly think Indiana in the final four, or in the final, is a surprise. I certainly had him picked from the get go. I am a bit surprised that neither a LotR character or a SW character is still in it. Several key LotR characters didn't even get nominated (Aragorn, Frodo, possibly...

Greatest Character Showdown Round 6 (Results IN)

I'd recken there's lots of films about Odysseus made in foreign langauges as well. Don't forget that Odysseus's tale continues to get printed (the Odyssey would be available in just about any decent bookshop in the Western world--can't nearly say that about Batman), sold, read, taught in...

    Any geek spots in Chicago?

In addition to the Field museum, the Oriental Institute Museum is excellent for those interested in Near Easter history. It's in Hyde Park, near afore mentioned Museum of Science and Industry. Hyde Park also boasts excellent used book shops.

    Any geek spots in Chicago?

Games Plus, I believe run by EN World's own thalmin, is one of the best game shops I've visited.

What exactly is an adventure for '0-level characters'?

Greatest Character Showdown Round 6 (Results IN)

My picks: 1. Indiana Jones 2. Odysseus Odysseus has survived 3000+ years, vs, uh, how long has Batman been around? So my vote's for the storm-tossed son of Laertes. Plus, he's the original fantasy adventurer--he wandered the known world, defeated fantasic creatures, and journeyed to the...

Greatest Character Showdown Round 4 (Results IN)

Note that both characters are creations of Joss Wheadon (sp?), who is definitely one of the most talented writers in today's TV sci-fi/fantasy market. So I"m not suprised at all two of his characters made it.

    Bye Monte!

I don't understand where this leave's Malhavoc? Is it possible for it to continue with other writers, or does this essentially mean Malhavoc will stop publishing, assuming Monte's game-writing will be on the 'back burner'.

Greatest Character Showdown Round 4 (Results IN)

Superman is a full-blown superhero. Batman is a mere man dressed in batsuit with a bunch of gadgets.

    1. Odysseus 2. Buffy Summers 3. Gandalf Robin Hood (changed vote) 4. Conan 5. Tarzan 6. Indiana Jones 7. Superman 8. Obi-Wan Kenobi All tough choices, but #4 was a true killer (and #3, seeing as how I changed my vote)

What podcasts are you listening to?

I'm trying to expand my podcasting horizons and am looking for some good suggestions. I'm interested in interesting podcasts on topics of fantasy/RPG and other topics--history, television/movies, etc. I'd be particularly interested if there's a good Trek discussion podcast. Currently I...

Well, since that show only lasted about a dozen episodes or so, it's not all that surpising that someone hasn't.
