Rappan Athuk: Reloaded SOLD OUT by wide margin!!

The trick is, knowing how many people will buy it before deciding on the print run. I'm sure many publishers would be willing to testify that if they could do this better their businesses would run much better. It's easy to say now that it's sold out that NG/WW should have printed more...

Rappan Athuk: Reloaded SOLD OUT by wide margin!!

My understanding from following this situation is that the 'attitude' has no bearing on whether Amazon can get the product or not--it was stated earlier than Amazon is not being prevented from acquiring RAR. As I understand it's a simple case that there are only 1000 copies (and a significant...

Rappan Athuk: Reloaded SOLD OUT by wide margin!!

Well, I just ordered on FRPGames, and have my fingers crossed. Living abroad, online is the only place I can get this baby. If it fails, I'll go with the PDF (though I'll also lobby for a reprint as Treebore suggested). That combined with my hard copy original 3.0 versions would also be...

Rappan Athuk: Reloaded SOLD OUT by wide margin!!

One thing that I hope comes out of this is in this case we have seen traditional FLGSs having the advantage over behemoths like Amazon in terms of being able to get this product. Here we see the small focused game shops being able to acquire a cool niche-product that gamers want, which simply...

Is The Orc and The Pie a well-designed adventure module?

I'm going to confess I only relatively recently heard of this module. Can someone fill me in on when this 'module' was created, originally run, and what sort of purpose it originally had? It seems ot me to be the inverted opposite of the module Tomb of Horrors.

So is there any chance of a reprint? What's the plan for a PDF release?

Is the SIZE modifier more trouble than it's worth?

A better example would be the cunning midget sidekick-villian from the Bond film Man with the Golden Gun. the character was awefully dangerous when armed with a knife. Still ended up in a suitcase though :)

The fireball spell through the editions

One side note--I think the idea of capping hte damage of fire ball and similar spells to a certain number of d6s was first introduced in (IIRC) the Companion Rules set. There the limit was 20d6. 3e tones it down to 10d6.

Who's Alfred Bester? That pretty much summed up my vote there. Raislin has a huge advantage on this board--he has very good name recognition (near universal?) among D&D players.

What is the appeal of 'pulp' fiction

Are those issues any less of a plot hole when set in the 1930s? (perhaps in popular perception it is) If anything, I find it more believable that today it would be technologically feasible to move such a large animal. Bottom line though, watching King Kong requires some suspesion of...

What is the appeal of 'pulp' fiction

I think there's something to that, especially in terms of how we perceive the era now. However, the reading I've done about the era says that among the educated it had become unplausable to, for example, find a lost island with dinosaurs, or survivors of Atlantis. Were stories with plots like...

What is the appeal of 'pulp' fiction

I'm sure this topic has been discussed here and elsewhere, but I've been thinking about it lately, particularly after last Xmas's King Kong film. I was wondering, why exactly did Jackson choose to set the film in the 1930's era. There's nothing explicit about the story that requires that time...

    Greatest Character Showdown! (Nominations CLOSED)

Random list of people I"m suprised weren't nominated: Aragorn. To me, given this is a fantasy website, and with the LotR films still pretty recent, this is the biggest non-nominiee. However LotR is fairly represented with Gandalf, Sam, and Gollum. Frodo. see above Data (ST:TNG) I wanted to...
