Feat and Prc progression for a scout

I've desinged a Scout character and I'm trying to maximize his archer/skirmish ability. One quick question, what's the more immediate need--Improved initiatiave, or precise shot? Also, I am assuming that taking rapid shot is of limited value since it doens't work with the skirmish ability...

    Whatever happened to Castlemorn?

That was supposed to come out from Fast Forward Entertainment. Their website no longer works (www.fastforwardgames.com), and google produced this article: http://www.gamingreport.com/article.php?sid=16177 Looks like the project is dead, though given that Ed Greenwood was author it is possible...

Warhammer RPG campaign starting--what to buy?

My group is starting a Warhammer RPG (2nd ed) game soon, and we're planning to buy some materials for it. We have the main book, but we're thinking of buying some supplements. Our only option realistically is having them shipped via Amazon. I've not played WFRPG, but another guy in the group...

Can someone explain crippled OGC to me

But Arcana Evolved and Iron Heroes are supported, both by Malhavoc and by 3rd parties doing so with permission from the publisher. Conversely, have there been examples of a Setting or similar product released under the OGL, and then supported by 3rd party products also released entirely...

Historical roles : most important factor?

Well, if we're speaking about hte Hunt for Red October, Connery was suppoosed to be Russian-speaking Lithuanian. Sam Neill played his First Officer. There were several scenes where the two spoke Russian together but the Russian was so bad my (Russian) relatives couldn't understand it at all...

Can someone explain crippled OGC to me

I had believed that keeping names as PI was considered acceptable. If a monster's name is closed but the stats are completely open, why can't anohter publisher take the statbloc and attach a different name? Isn't this similar to the named spells from the PHB?

Using your PDA at the game table

I look at it as the same as players who look at books during the game, though you may not like players doing that either. But I think that's very common at many game tables.

Historical roles : most important factor?

Hollywood has a particulary atrocious record of using anything but a Russian to play Russian roles (Arnold Swartzenegger and Dolph Lungren being two famous examples). From a mainstream point of view, I think this is generally only a big deal to nationality in question (Arnie may be passable as...

    Treasure Discussion: AD&D1, D&D3

The modules G1, G2, amd G3 specifically said characters could level up between forays, which was contrary to AD&D's 'training' rule. Of course, in these modoles, characters really needed to level up to succeed.

    Might be a not-so-merry christmas

Very best holiday wishes to you, Mr and Mrs Boz! Ukraine is divided religiously into two large groups the Eastern Catholic church (sometimes called Greek Catholic, Ukrainian Catholic, etc) who would follow the Gregorian Calendar; and the Eastern Orthodox church, which follows the Julian...

Can someone explain crippled OGC to me

I've heard this phrasea lot over the years. I understand it basically means when people publish d20 stuff and word their d20 license in such a way no one can use their stuff. Can someone explain how this is done? I know this is sensitive issue for many here, so I'd request in advance that we...

Using your PDA at the game table

I tried a similar question here at the Tech forum and got a limited response, so I thought I'd probe here. Lots of people here use laptops for tabletop gaming. I was wondering how many people try to make use out of PDAs? How? The best use I've seen is having the SRD on it, which can be very...

Ryan Dancey speaks - the Most Successful Year for Fantasy RPGaming ever. However...

You know, honestly, I don't think that that would be all that bad from my point of view. It wold be a great help to my RPG budget, and would allow me to catch up on products I missed earlier. I certainly have enough rpg product now to play for a long time. If this did happen, I'm confident...

What is wrong (and right) in the RPG Industry?

Why is WotC addign to OGC considered a requirement for a healthy RPG industry? How many RPGs overall are open anyway? If WotC decide to make 4e closed (like most RPGs), would that be bad? And what is the problem with material being open and not in the SRD? Well, there's at least some (free)...

    Rate King Kong

I think it's also a way to combat piracy, by releasing a for-sale DVD before lots of people have downloaded or purchased an illegal copy.

What fantasy stories are should be done next on the big screen?

With Harry Potter IV, Narnia (book 1) and King Kong, and others there's a fair bit of fantasy on the big screen this season. That that stuff and others like LotR, what iconic fantasy stories/tales/yarns need to be brought to the big screen, taking full advantage of modern CGI etc? By stories...
