Can "diluting" be worse than antagonising them?

Seems that fans of the good old Realms need to do the same: Ignore Wizards and do their own. It's quite likely that I'll spend a lot less for 4e than for 3e (at least concerning Wizards products), since I'll pretty much ignore the whole FR line, doing my own FR if I'm not running Pathfinder.

Just go ahead and disconinue the setting, making something new. Sure, that's what they're doing, but they're calling the new setting "Forgotten Realms", which is confusing.
