I like them. The maps look really nice. Jason Engle is a master of the light. As for edition-less: The short "adventurettes" are 3.5e, but I'd say you could easily convert them to 4e (or anything else) or just mine them for ideas and use the maps for your own adventures.

I think I'd really hate that. I like playing in evil campaigns. Not exclusively, but something like a quarter to a third of the campaigns. I don't want to be forced to refer to several books for the basics like spells and feats. I'm not talking about vile feats and anything like that, but...

How about "druid spells" ? :p You could use "anima". It can mean soul/spirit, in the sense of nature spirit - which the druid controls or asks for favours. It can also mean "move!"/"live!" and mean the druid gets nature to act on his behalf.

It's not as if this was the first time things like that were put into D&D, you know.

Knight has a lot of connotative baggage. I couldn't imagine one without a horse and a lance. Soldier implies leadership, with him being on the receiving side of said leadership. I knew we'd get you this way. We were discussing several things, and I was sure that this would get you. :p

Not necessarily, if those things will be easier to pull of, like making a spell attack against one or more targets and then rolling one die of damage and automatically applying the extra effect. Compare that to 3es Spell-Res, Saving Throw, rolling a handfull of dice, and resolving/calculating...
