Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

Valurel stands in the wooded glade, throwing back his head and breathing deeply of the myriad scents the forest presents to him. Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow [Recruiting Alternates]

Hrothgar, did you want me to roll for that reflex save?

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

Valurel gazes around the ash blackened area with sadness. "We should tread carefully here," he says, eyes forever scanning his surroundings. He was surprised at how happy he had been when he caught sight of Erethor. His spirits had momentarily soared until they reached the Fields of Ash and...

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

OOC: Sorry, been offline the past few days. IC: "Much has happened to lead us astray and slow us down," Valurel says, his face impassive. "I agree with Lodric as well. We have no more time to waste. We must track Aislinn even if that means leaving others to fates far worse than death." He...

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

After surveying the tracks, Valurel returns to the group. "Wargs have been here, as well as smaller creatures, maybe goblins. Their tracks lead southwest but I can see no sign of them on the horizon. Those are what destroyed this village. Whether the troll was with them or just here by...

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

Valurel stares at the gnome for a moment before shrugging and moving away from the beast as asked. He turns his attention to scanning the surrounding area, still alert for trouble. He feared that the smoke from this village would bring other trouble down on them before long and he didn't...

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

Groaning in pain, Valurel steps back away from the creature, and pulls out the small mirror from beneath the folds of his dirty clothing. Looking into it, he calls on its ability to make him stronger, not knowing what to expect. He then tucks the mirror back into his shirt and prepares to...

my new campaign: the Western Shore

Very nice collection of maps. I had a question for you but rather than hijack the thread any further, I sent you an e-mail to the address you have listed in your ENWorld profile.

my new campaign: the Western Shore

Not one of your best? I'd love to see something you consider better. This one is excellent! Elsir Vale plays a huge part in my current campaign as we started the campaign a little over a year ago and that adventure was the first one we played. The PCs are well-established there now so it...

my new campaign: the Western Shore

:) Yeah, it seemed to have the Forgotten Realms look. I'd love to be able to make a map like that from scratch but my CC2/CC3 skills are lacking...

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

Uttering an Erunsil curse, Valurel activates his ability to make his natural weapons more potent, and then rakes his claws across the creature's back again, hoping for more success. OOC: Activate heroic path Magic Fang power and attack. 2 Claws, +8/+8 to hit, 1d4+4 damage, crit on 20x2.

my new campaign: the Western Shore

Interesting thread. As someone building his own homebrew (still a total work in progress), I really like the retro feel and the mish-mash of items cobbled together from various sources. The flavor from Song of Fire and Ice is a nice touch. I really like the map. Interesting to look at...

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

Valurel starts down the hill behind Starhl. "One of you, warn the others!" he hisses to Mardo and Lodric before breaking into a run. Making every attempt to stay out of the barbarian's way, he launches himself at the giant horror, tearing into it with vicious claws.

Out of the Frying Pan... (d20 Star Wars)

Gotta agree with the Lemming, reading this makes me wish it hadn't ended before more of this had been revealed in the game and more of these adventures had taken place. I almost wish I had offered to continue things for you, Shadow...but that would have meant having Femi become an NPC...

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

OOC: My suggestion of three was just a number I figured Valurel would toss out there. It was by no means an attempt to leave anyone out who wants to be part of it. Heck, far as I'm concerned, everyone can go...except Herger. Kinda hard to hide a mini-mountain... IC: Arguments of a short...

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

"Yes, scouting first is the point I was trying to make. Simply walking up on an unknown situation is too dangerous. I suggest that maybe two or three of us, myself included, sneak up and get a look. If you're concerned about splitting up, the others can stay close and out of sight while we...

Midnight: A Lost Faith's Shadow. Book 1, The Awakening. Chapter 4, Pursuit

"Do not confuse exhaustion combined with caution as giving up," Valurel says evenly without looking up at Mardo. "I was merely stating the facts. We've faced dangers that you can only begin to imagine these last few months. I can agree with no plan that throws caution to the wind...

    Unhallowed gallery is up!

My current group has four giant owls serving as mounts/companions after the events of the Red Hand of Doom module. It'll be cool having minis to represent them, although they have yet to become involved in any tactical situations.
