    This is taking too long.

Or, you could attend PAXEAST, sign an NDA, then playtest 5e-Next there.

    GMing the Ready Action

Not sure about 1e (I cannot locate my 1e books), but 2e had WALK, JOG, and RUN, as per 2e PHB pages 119-120. .

D&D 5E (2014) how 5E could work for players of all editions

I am not sure who "most" of us are? If you have better play options why are you posting here. I'm not trying to be rude, but if you have a favored system already, which you seem to have. Why post here, if it is doubtful that 5E might be that system.

D&D 5E (2014) how 5E could work for players of all editions

What DM wouldn't want to play his preferred style of play. What certain breed of DM are you ? 5E-Next may just "work" but it may be awesome, time will tell. As for something new, that was exactly what 4E was. So what something new are you asking for?

D&D 5E (2014) how 5E could work for players of all editions

If you are suggestion that we have Two PHBs as core at launch, I say no. I'm sure they can fit everything into a single 300 page PHB. Measuring movement in squares was 4E innovation, 3E still used feet, ie the Five foot step.

L&L: Putting the Vance in Vancian

After reading this, I am very hopeful. Especially If these feats will let a player choose to build a Caster character either 1E, 2E, 3E, 4E style (or even some new point style). Which could make almost every happy, no matter which style you prefer. .

Combat tweaks I would like to see.

Many of your dates are wrong, many of these minor revision were totaly different editions, not compatible with a previous editions. You missed the 1999 Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Game that lasted until 2000, when 3E released. A 2E Basic hybrid game, probably testing the waters for 3E. Most...

    Opinions on Racial Ability Modifiers

AS per the link you provided, Chimps are twice as strong as humans. "Twice as strong" is still might powerful, x2 any damage mods. Aside from that, are we not looking at a fantasy realm, where realism sometimes takes second place behind magical & wondrous things.

    A Hit Point Proposal

I so agree with this opinion. I want so see cleaner & quicker combats not more book keeping & more complicated.

But what If the Hobby was at home, on guard duty with a readied action himself ? Now what ?

The Definition of Hit Points--is it really a deal-breaker?

I like your poll & agree with your assessments. I do suggest you repost the poll, with you changes, after the "open play test" begins. Just to see if anything changes.

    Iteration.

Great list ! Many gamers blame WOTC for new Editions every 3-5 years, as cash making plot. But TSR is fondly praised, yet started the new Edition game rotation.

    Iteration.

You post erroneous facts, then try to reword things to try to save face. Your post have little to do with the thread topic, do they? Yet you are only fanning the flames of editions wars. Again!

    D&D 5E (2014) How should 5e handle rules problems?

I really would be pleased to see only 3-4 erratas a year. Then Maybe 3-4 times a year, small rule tweaks & rule clarifications, which the edition could run with or without, if you were to choose to ignore.

    D&D 5E (2014) How should 5e handle rules problems?

I would rather have errata to fix problems as they are discovered, than to buy a 3E & 3.5 etc, or have half the DM's invent 1,000 similar house fixes. I hope that GOOD play-testing should keep errata to a minimum.

    PHB Length and Contents

Since we already know: A skill is essentially a notation to a stat. For example, STR 15, and bonus to opening jam jars because you're just really good at that particular thing. Feats cover at-will abilities. Wizard has javelin of fire at-will feat ability. Themes cover potion-makers and...
