4E Tieflng god a small descriptive change, I think the spirit is still the same. What differences do you consider major ?
Yes, I agree that Tiefling name could be tougher sounding, more "badass".
I played a Tiefling pre 4E, and we just called fellow Tieflings "Tainted" which sounded better...
If Tieflings are clearly not the same race, maybe you can explain it to us. As for "silly", I think that is in the eye of the beholder. And what is wrong with "Heavy Metal" albums, but now we call them CDs.

Free-Form vs. Tactical Gaming , are different styles of gaming, both equally valid styles of play. But why does Free-Form mean you must omit init. Why not just roll init or roll surprise ?
If you "Allow readied actions out of combat", opens a can of worms. Then why would the Goblin not have a readied action to yell for aid, & throw his spear, then run away for cover. How do you decide which readied action happens first? Both at the same time. What if there are Six Goblins ALL...
So you admit, you are posting on quotes from that you read on the internet and have no clue about MMOs and 4E. Have you ever even read a 4E core book or did you just read internet reviews too.
Again, Which MMO did you play that 4E "itself looks like it came straight from". We know there are no tieflings in WoW. I have played DDO, which looks just like D&D 3.5, big surprise there. Are you inferring MMO's are bad? Over 10,000,000 play WoW. Where is your blog link on why 4E is a...
Of my 4E D&D gamer friends, only 1 plays WoW, and he tells me that 4E & WoW are nothing alike, which I believe. I bet that "variant" has never played WoW and maybe no MMOs at all. In that case , his analogies are pointless & totally invalid. I think he his just encouraging Edition Waring.
'I don't really know anything reguarding MMOs, but Sounds like you have a lot of MMO experience to compare this to. How many often you played WoW, and what other MMO's have you played? How is 4E like these MMOs?
I don't believe that making all the classes & races which you might not like in to THEMES is the best future of 5E-Next. If you wish to play with Fighters, Clerics, & Wizards then you may chose to.
We know:...quote, "Common or uncommon classes. So for example fighters, clerics, wizards and...
Scout has been a D&D class, & Ranger a D&D class almost from the origins of D&D, and if anything should be a theme it would be a Soldier & trailblazer. Fighting men was a class from the very begins of D&D in OD&D. Removing iconic D&D classes or reducing them to themes would not be D&D.
Humm, no one should play a Barbarian because you don't like it? Wouldn't it be simpler if maybe if you just don't play a Barbarian. Maybe allow people who really like the barbarian, the honor to play a barbarian, only if they do a good job playing a barbarian. Just a thought.
I think that I agree, If you mean that the compromises MUST be done very carefully. I think 5E-Next MUST be a blend of all the previous editions, hopeful taking the BEST parts of each. Thus is the largest problem to over come, which parts are truly the best.
If compromise is a bad thing, then the "gamey & dissociated" crowd will hate 5E-next no matter what it evolves into. Compromise is the ONLY way a new edition will get the B/X, 0E, 1E, 2E, 3E, & 4E players playing the same edition.
Didn't many people complain about 4E, due to it's treating melee characters just like magic using characters? I am not sure I care either way, but why should both be the same.
Nope. It will be D&D with numerous choices to appeal to the majority of D&D players. We might not all love D&D-Next but I think most of us will really like it.
