Where did you get your info about 4e? WOTC marketing was so poor that The sales of the 4e PHB were 'above expectations'. Soon aftet launch, the 3 core books went in to a 'reprinting' .
I suspect the only people who never purchased the 4e books early on, are the grognards who never purchased 3e...
I think we are getting closer to reality here. Even within each edition, we have play-style variation. I was unaware of the number variations, camps as you put it. I wonder just how many camps there really are?
Sadly, I'm not really pleased the direction Next is going, so far it is failing to...
That limb snapped, take 2d10 falling damage. This 4e fan gets AARP offers every few months, for several years. Many 4e players like myself, started with 1e. You also take an extra d10 for landing on your laser gun, since it is NOT mine.
It seems like you consider published adventures for newbies & children. Some are only casual gamers, not willing to spend countless hours in world & adventure creation. Seems like again, some are dictating or criticizing a play style.
Lots, Loads, Tons!....Lots as long as they are done well & make sense, rather than say we 3 melee or 3 casters or limit to 3 each, etc...
No matter the number, some will be disappointed, some will complain, yet some will stomp their feet in protest. It s way to early to fear anything.
Fixing means something is broken, so what exactly are you repairing? Seems to be rules tweaking for tweaking sake. I just don't see any problem either.
Watching White Collar, Covert Affairs, Dead Files, Warehouse 13, Burn Notice, Doctor Who, Copper, Lost Girl.
Eagerly awaiting for; Haven, Being Human, NCIS, Star Wars:The Clone Wars, Top Gear, & The Yankees in the World Series.
So are we having the "we only need 4 classes If...", we have specialties & multi-classing. Really? again? Really? Do we really have any new arguments that have not been beaten to death. Little chance that anyone is going to change there view. You won't, I won't.
I want lots of classes. Lots of...
I'm not really sure if this is a "we know best" attitude". Mearls & crew said the feedback from First playtest, overwhelming disliked the simple fighter. Where as this pleases myself, it might not please you. Play style certainly crosses editions, so support many is their plan. There should be...
Sounds more like YOU have decide the correct method of 'sand box' play style. Why can't I run a sand box campaign any way I want ? Play styles should conform to the group of players rather than the player conform to the play style.
They need to incorporate the best of ALL editions. You will be completely disappointing If you are expecting a updated 1e game. The goal is to support many play styles not recreate an old edition with new rules.
"Immersive" & "immersion" are buzz words that puzzle me a bit. Can someone supply a working definition of these. I want to get a better understanding on just people mean with these terms.
Yes, disrespect is rude, we ALL need to be tolerant of ALL play-styles.
Let me ask just what "pre-4e" people means? I myself have played 1e(years), 2e(not so much), 3.0e, 3.5e (tons), now 4e. I have no interest in avoiding dissociative mechanics yet I played long before 4e was even a dream. I...
All you have is disdain for 4e. Liking you favorite edition is fine. As for 4e, How do you get any "sense" on a game you admit you have had no interest in ever playing after read the rules. You seen to know everything about 4e, also also admit to lurk 4e forums. Why would you do such things for...
