  2. Kobold Stew

Friends, Gamers, Editors, Lend Me Your Ears! (New Rules)

That's better, but for many it will b GM-determined ("I'm running a hard sf game") and some it will come from the players. Maybe that doesn't worry you. This, to me, is worse. A tie should be the most interesting outcome, not something to be dodged. If the system can't handle that, then it...

Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) OOC (Full)

I'm really sorry to hear it, j. I know we will miss you, and miss Escella. I hope things straighten out for you.

D&D 5E (2014) We should domesticate Rust Monsters

Many people find the purring of small rust monsters very soothing, and the gentle vibrations a great stress releiver. Fashionable women often carry them around in their handbags, as a comfort animal. It never ends well.

But this cage with nails is so much cheaper.... And we're just going a little way with it. Like, a day's travel, two tops. I'm sure it will be fine with the less expensive cage.

    They eat nails like pistachios.

D&D 5E (2014) We should domesticate Rust Monsters

Like grizzly bears and bigfoot, Rust "Monsters" have a perfect ecosystem that is interrupted by human/adventurer incursion on their natural territory. We go underground and are in their native territory, not ours, and treat them as the enemy, without consideration of the impact our presence...

AtG Howling Crag (5e PBP) IC

Yes, I presumed we were leaving the horses. The Colonel can levitate and be pulled like a balloon....

Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) OOC (Full)

I would be happy to commit to more than that -- two posts a week, and the game proceeds as Fitz has time. We need to find a momentum. This isn't an obligation, but non-response slows the fun for the others. (in my opinion).

Friends, Gamers, Editors, Lend Me Your Ears! (New Rules)

To be clear, I think you are asking for questions about formatting and amount of detail, not engagement with the mechanics themselves. Is that right? Here are some thoughts on presentation: p. 1 "is the general answer" doesn't make sense. I think you means something like: A table might decide...

D&D 5E (2024) Bladesinger, is it Green, Yellow, or Red?

It is the way that the feedback is being asked in the survey. If you tick Green, there is no further need for comment. If you tick yellow or Red, they ask you why.

D&D 5E (2024) Grade Knowledge Domain, Green, Yellow, Red?

...to your trained, expertise skills. It also guarantees a 16 (typically) on your untrained skills as well (who needs history proficiency, or nature? not you! Also your untrained investigation (for interacting with Illusions, etc.) For these things, reliably hitting DC 15 is great. I think...

D&D 5E (2024) Grade Knowledge Domain, Green, Yellow, Red?

But that only guarantees you make a DC 15 -- that's doing well on pub trivia. If you want to (ever) hit a DC 20 check (let alone DC 25), you need to invest in Intelligence, and expertise. The level 6 ability raises the floor; does nothing about pushing the ceiling.

D&D 5E (2024) Grade Knowledge Domain, Green, Yellow, Red?

I don't understand this concern. Can you explain?
  16. Kobold Stew

D&D 5E (2024) Bladesinger, is it Green, Yellow, or Red?

I said yellow -- bladesinging is overclocked (especially for the AC), and they need to eliminate the third attack that comes online at level 14.

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

No, it's not. I can't explain why it is presented that way in the list.

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

Sphinx of Lore (CR 11) and Sphinx of Valor (CR 17) have lairs and lair actions. While in them, they have an additional legendary resistance and actions, can cast clairvoyance, and those nearby get a bonus on Study actions.

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

I got the alt cover, which is very beautiful. It (like the others) also has magnificent endpapers -- I don't know if they're in the regular ones, but they're truly great.
