I worry less about series completion so long as the book can stand alone. Too often with this style of series, however, we increasingly see characters left in cliffhanger-style situations. For me, this is the primary reason to wait for a series to be released in full before diving into it...

This isn't a swipe at either boardgame, just an observation. With a RPG, he COULD fight a vampire & dragon at the same time. It's also not a stretch that a 9-yr old can play in a RPG, if my kids are any indication.

I think that way too many gamers think that their personal experiences reflect the whole of the industry. Sure the closing of a chain like Borders can impact a publisher. However, given how poorly Borders has been doing for years, a publisher would be pretty foolish to rely on a failing chain...

I don't care what WotC is doing, either. Primarily since we parted ways with 4e/GSL and I found greater satisfaction in Pathfinder-land. I care about finding enough time to develop all the NPCs, adventure, and campaign ideas that knock around in my brain. I care about nurturing a love of RPGs...
