Gestalt Characters from a DM point of View

I like a lot of your ideas. They eliminate some of the possible silliness while still maintaining the concept of Gestalt. I have recently started playing in a Gestalt campaign. Our experience has been similar to yours, we have a few more options than we otherwise would and the characters are...

Titans of Twink Assemble! Raising Save DCs...

Heh, no, using 3.5 does not help. At all. :p

What is a Rune? What book are they from?

    Highest AC possible

Bracers of Armor provide an armor bonus to AC. If you use actual armor it provides an armor bonus to AC. You can increase the armor bonus of the armor with a magical enhancement bonus, but the armor is still providing an armor bonus to AC. In 3.5e shield provides a +4 shield bonus to AC.

    Highest AC possible

Mithral ads 2 to the max Dex bonus. I believe the Nimble enchantment ads another 2. I think Nimble is in Magic of Faerun.

    Highest AC possible

Once you go epic, you can use the Epic Spellcasting feat to create permanent spells that give significant bonuses to AC. If you increase the casting time a lot, you can get a good bonus for a low XP/gold cost. Get yourself a Rod of Security so you have a safe place to cast the spells. The Armor...

Help me twink out an elven ranger and human wizard!!!

The Eldritch Knight is in the DMG (or the SRD). I suggest looking over the 3.5e SRD. There is a sticky post with links to it at the top of the D&D Rules board.

    Need help designing Epic Cleric

Initiate of Illmater is a feat from Players Guide to Faerun. Fortunate Fate is from Magic of Faerun. Rods of Metamagic are from the DMG. And, you're welcome. :)

Two questions: skill items / DR and sneak

The ELH says any item granting an enhancement bonus to a skill greater than +30 is considered an epic item.

    Need help designing Epic Cleric

Start taking Hierophant levels at 21. You want full spell progression. Divine Reach is great for healers and, depending on the alignments in the party, Faith Healing. If you *really* want to focus on healing, go for Spontaneous Domain Access to the Healing Domain. Then you can spontaneously...

Help me twink out an elven ranger and human wizard!!!

Meaning, I believe, that dual-weilding short swords is not a path to melee monster unless you do a large amount of sneak attack damage. Two-handed weapon weilders with power attack tend to make the best melee monsters. You can do silly things with Monkey Grip and two-handed heavy weapons. They...

    Magic armor bonus? Pffffft.

The new-and-improved 3.5e version protects regardless of direction. Note the reduction from a +7 bonus to a +4 bonus and the change in type from a cover bonus to a shield bonus. I believe the theory was the changes balance each other out. It certainly makes it easier to ajudicate.

    Monks, Mage-Killing and SR Improving

I checked both Masters of the Wild and Savage Species. Neither contain feats to increase SR. Both books have feats to increase DR, though, so that might be what some people are thinking of. It looks like your only option pre-epic is the feat from BoED or an item of spell resistance. A few other...

    Epic Feat Advice Request

My character will reach 21st level next session, and I'm having difficulty finding a good Epic feat to choose. Upon levelling, he will be a Gnome (Shapechanger) Druid 6/Nature's Warrior 5/Shifter 10. Due to a generous DM ruling, he has access to the (Ex) and (Su) abilities of the forms he takes...

    Devoted Defender Double-Dipping, Do-able or Dont-think-so?

I think you get to choose either Harm's Way or both Deflect Attack and Defensive Strike. If you use Harm's Way, the attack is no longer against your charge and, therefore, Deflect Attack and Defensive Strike no longer apply.

True Necromancer - Good, Bad, thoughts?

I believe it is possible to qualify as a straight cleric by taking the Spells domain. With greater anyspell you can technically cast the sorcerer/wizard spells in the True Necromancer prerequisites. I don't know of any dieties who have both the Death and Spells domains, so you would probably...
