Yes, and Druzil betrayed Cadderly and became a familiar to a drow wizard. It also helped free Errtu. It might not have been an evil act but it had horrible consequences. It united Errtu with the crystal shard. Oh, and I've always associated "The Ends Justify the Means" as at least lawful evil...
