You can make this even more difficult by suggesting that the "good" side's army has been depleted but their coffers are overflowing. In order to continue the war, they've contracted out mercenaries. A vast majority of these sellswords aren't aligned with good. Some are CN, CE, LE and such.

Mine rounded the kobolds up and took them back to a mine they owned. With the help of a few good natured dwarven mothers, they're raising the kobolds to be neutral good. They escaped with about a dozen babies and more than fifty eggs. This brings me to a question...how long does it take kobolds...

I don't trust hospitals. I went to one back in January and the doctor stole my appendix! :p Actually, my mom's an RN and I spent a lot of time in or around hospitals while growing up. Good to here they discharged your dad. Best wishes in a speedy recovery. Keep an eye on him though. :)

I, too, run a shades of grey campaign with my college group. When I'm home, I DM for my little brother and his friends. I run a strictly black and white campaign with few deities for them. They're all around nine years old so I make it simple but still require them to think.

Eh, I seen an octupus rise from the deeps and sneak up upon drunken sailor. Took his leg off at the knee, it did. Terrible sight. Terrible. Then it doubled its speed and scrambled back beneath the depths leg and all.

That's understandable. Where would I find them though? Are they in a particular book?

I voted for Demons. Why? A balor can summon another balor if its in a tight spot. Second, demons are the summoned creature of choice by the drow. ;) Advanced Drow + Demons= a PC's nightmare.

Plus its going to add roughly 50 pounds of weight to him.

I usually impose random fortitude saves and an occasional willpower save once a PC has consumed more than his/her limit. lol
