D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Core Rulebooks: 'We'll Still Be Working On Them In May'

What I need to know is: A) are we seeing simultaneous or staggered releases? and B) Will there be a 3 book boxed set with FLGS covers? For A, I would prefer to have simultaneous release, with a clear date, so I can budget now. I am a DM and would just prefer to get them all at once. If it is...

RPG Print News – Mongoose, Rogue Games, Exalted Funeral, and More

I wish I got to run Paranoia enough to justify a new edition. But I already heavily invested in the previous one.

D&D 5E (2024) I'm a longtime player and there really is only one thing that will stop me from switching to 5.X

Meh. I am not interested in people going into excruciating detail about why the don't like a game. Tell me what works in your favs.

D&D 5E (2024) I'm a longtime player and there really is only one thing that will stop me from switching to 5.X

One way in which you are incorrect: If I stop buying books, I get to keep the ones I have. If we see a move to a pure subscription service, when I stop paying, I loose access.

D&D General US Postal Service Releases D&D Stamps

To Clarify: Forever Stamps here in the US means that they always hold value, even if the cost of individual stamps go up. A Forever stamp is always worth the base value of a standard letter.

RPG Print News – Free League, Columbia Games, Arc Dream Publishing, and More

I'm glad Commandroids is getting a printing. Played it years back at a convention. The price made me check the page count, which turns out to be pretty robust. Not an immediate pick up but could definitely end up on my Xmas list.

D&D General Vague idea: Humans as the descendants of Elves and Orcs

Had a LotR vid on in the background and had a thought: Humans can produce viable offspring with both Orcs and Elves because they are themselves the descendants of those two older peoples sometime in the distant past. Not a general lore but more one to develop for a specific setting.

D&D 5E (2014) The Audience - Do you feel like you're the target audience?

I am also an unrepentant gaming cannibal and just buy such products to swipe ideas.

D&D 5E (2014) The Audience - Do you feel like you're the target audience?

Real Talk: I should not be the "target audience". I'm an entrenched gamer in their late 40s. It's my take that about half of all material should be aimed at either onramping people to take on gaming, or geared to help people start GMing. I dont have much need for published adventures, but if its...

What dead game would you resurrect?

I'm jealous. Could definitely see the game getting a "timeline update" to cover events from the revival, and then another book that was just heists.

What dead game would you resurrect?

I just want a copy of the Leverage rpg that isn't hundreds of dollars please.

    Palladium Announces New TMNT Kickstarter

A lot of affection for this back in the day, but if it's a reprint/edit without a system refresh, it's likely it wouldn't appeal to my current table. Still aiming to get Mutants in the Now for Xmas.

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

For me, balance matters when you pass an inflection point, where PC A is so much more effective than PC B, that it makes PC B feel like they didn't need to attend the game. Its always a struggle. I have found speaking with players who overclock their characters to restrain themselves a touch...

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

I think one solution for this is diversifying crunch. Xanathar's and Tasha's both expanded existing rules (Subclasses. New Spells) but also gave new systems (Patrons). While I dont say no to more of the same (I always need more monsters and magic items), what can really pull me in are new...

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

Side point: If we could continue to improve release quality before quantity, that would be great.... (Looking at you Spelljammer)

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

If I had to have a number on it, I'd say I would be happy with 3-5 releases per year, with the admission that all I really want are core books (rules, monsters, ect) and Setting books that have rules potential. Adventures are usually not my bag unless they also have some rules supplementation.
