    L&L 3/05 - Save or Die!

Save or Die could take effect when and character or monsters is bloodied. The only issue is that it makes Bloodied a very dangerous condition to be in. ...and it's good to see Mike back on L&L

D&D 5E (2014) Magic items in D&D Next: Remove them as PC dependant?

They said in the D&D XP seminars that magic items where not going to be part of the base math. I have "contacts" that say that so far this is so.

    New rule of 3 . Feb 21.

Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Rule-of-Three: 02/21/12) Good questions. Makes me wonder if they should split the fighter up into different categories (archer, brawler) much like the Wizard has the sorcerer, warlock, etc. Discuss

    Change and the OGL

My industry contact stated that preliminary signs are that 5e is looking to have a far better licence than 4e did.

Will trying to maintain legacy and the "feel" of D&D hurt innovation?

Yes. But then again asking what you had for breakfast this morning seems to spark edition warring these days.

Will trying to maintain legacy and the "feel" of D&D hurt innovation?

My arguement was about letting D&D evolve as a game rather than making it become another game . People and game tastes evolve, game mehanics should as well. I understand that game mechanics are not like cars or computers as there are better versions (excepting lemons which do happen)a game...

How many of these "X should not be in 5e" threads did you make?

Will trying to maintain legacy and the "feel" of D&D hurt innovation?

"D&D 4e does not feel like D&D to me" was a response I've read quite often on forums and heard others in game stores say. It's not an opinion that I personally share, however people felt this way and voted with feet/wallets. So this time around we have WotC shooting for the "feel" of D&D, that...

Do you like being saved? Or the Dues ex machina in action

Oh totally! I have run some games and have been there before too. I have mad mistakes that where total "Whoops! he he sorry guys". The point of the thread was not to hash out my DM's mistake (cause we've all done it), but to discuss the concept of death and do you save the PCs when :o:o:o:o:o...

Do you like being saved? Or the Dues ex machina in action

We are playing a sci fi game, and while I am enjoying the story I absolutely hate the game mechanics, but really that's neither here nor there and not what the thread is about. Anyhow last night the GM misjudged the power of an encounter and we soon found ourselves outgunned and on our backs to...

D&D Blog. Should Fighters get multiple attacks?

I don't see why having an easy fighter is such a big deal for people, given that they said that we'll get the tactical complicated fighter as well. I will bet dimes to dollars that both options will be available in the core rules. I am sure that there will be an easy cleric, wizard, etc along...

Confirming crits, good idea, bad idea, or worst idea ever

This is the supposed thing they were playtesting in the second "leaked" report. If this is actually the case, I have no problems with this. Don't like the confirmation roll? Fine, drop it and just use max damage like 4e. I don't see what the issue is.

D&D Blog. Should Fighters get multiple attacks?

I didn't see the second option until just a while ago, D'oh! I honestly don't mind the first or third option and would be interested in play testing both.

D&D Blog. Should Fighters get multiple attacks?

I interpreted what they said as meaning they want to get the basic fighter done right (they did say in the seminars that the fighter was tricky to design) and then make sure they add the complexity on top of that. They did say I think the "easy" fighter for beginners/people who don't want...

    Broken NDAs or Elaborate Trolls?

As far as rests go, the designers have made comments about party composition , and not making someone feel like they have to play the healer/leader so for example a party of rogues and fighters could exist and still be playable . There is a lot of hate for healing surges, the gain hit points...

    Broken NDAs or Elaborate Trolls?

Well to each his own I suppose . This shouldn't come as a surprise though. It was mentioned in the seminars by the design team. Also I am a 4e gamer and prefer it over any edition thus far .That said I don't get how daily powers are not vancian . I get the feat tax arguement, but we don't know...
