D&D 5E (2014) Chapters/Indigo and the death of the FLGS

My point was that WotC needs the books sold at Chapters far more than Chapters needs to sell the books which means that WotC will do nothing against Chapters at the end of the day. And ultimately (from WotC standpoint) so what if Chapters did sell it earlier? Their product still got sold.

    D&D 5E (2014) Goodman Games Announces 5e Modules

When you say Pathfinder 2.0 you're meaning an rpg using 5e's mechanics to challenge 5e, not a 2 ed. of the current Pathfinder rpg right? Because if it's the former it's not going to happen ( and the later is REALLY not going to happen). Pathfinder happened because WotC bungled so much of the 4e...

D&D 5E (2014) Instant gratification versus saving money

So what I'm hearing is.....1NSTANT GRATIFICATION FOR THE WIIIIINNNNNNNNZZZZZZZ!!!!!11111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!one!!!!!!! I mean...*ahem* I should probably support my local FLGS. Yes that sounds reasonable.

D&D 5E (2014) Instant gratification versus saving money

I live in an area where a WPN store is 5 minutes from my house. However if I buy the PHB today it's a lot of money. Or do I wait and get it from Amazon for around 50% off. What would you do?

D&D 5E (2014) Chapters/Indigo and the death of the FLGS

This. Chapters doesn't care because 5e isn't going to sell big at all compared to other books/products. Once the 19th passes they will sell barely any at all in their physical stores. I'm guessing here but it would probably hurt WotC more to enforce something like this than they'd gain from...

D&D 5E (2014) Chapters/Indigo and the death of the FLGS

Yeah I'm sure D&D isn't a huge seller for them, so WotC fines them and they just stop carrying WotC products.

Will there? What fall-out would there be? What would Wizards do to them as punishment? They could Fine them (unlikely). They could withhold product (yeah right). I think there is ZERO that Wizards could do to them that has any meaningful consequence.

D&D 5E (2014) Let's put together a list of what is supposedly in the DMG.

I really hope that the Mass Battles stuff allows for epic armies clashing and not just "warband" type of stuff.

D&D 5E (2014) So I missed most of the playtest, how are NPCs going to be generated?

I think Mike said that you can stat NPCs out as PCs or as monsters (like 4e). No details have been given.

    D&D 5E (2014) Speculating about the future of the D&D industry/community in a post-5E world

Depends, I could see a few scenarios if 5e is big and cuts into Paizo's profits substantially. If 5e is OGL then why waste resources on development of PF 2? Just release AP's for PF and 5e. 5e isn't OGL then maybe we'll see a PF 2. Pathfinder has been growing for quite some time. I think we'll...

Yeah in some ways Paizo's APs are kind of "system neutral"

D&D 5E (2014) Given WotC plans with the RPG will 5e always be the #1 seller?

I expect 5e to be the number 1 seller this quarter and for the next few quarters. According to Mike Mearls the starter set is going for a 2nd printing. However given WotC's statements about their plans to (supposedly) get away from the source book a month club and to publish more adventures...
