What's the name of the planet of the Warhammer RPG?

Most human minds, anyway. There are a whole whackload of non-human races which have other views of the world, possibly more complete. Even among humans, look at Kislev: they are outside the Empire and have a painfully accurate idea of the world, the existence of the north polar Warpgate, and...

Wishing a Speedy Recovery for Neil Young

Neil was supposed to play here in Winnipeg this weekend at the Junos (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys)... alas. He used to live here for a long spell, and I think he still has a cabin on Lake of the Woods (which is within driving distance from here). There were a lot of disappointed...

Reccomendation for a good single malt Scotch

Depends on your taste preference. There are some decent lighter-bodied single malts such as Glenlivet and Dalwhinnie (which has a slight floral note to my schnoz), moving up to Oban and Cragganmore, and then swinging into the peaty fightin' whisky such as Talisker, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, and...

What type bug freaks you out? Most painful?

Sawyer beetles. Northern Manitoba is maggoty with the things. Not poisonous but they have a nasty bite coupled with an annoying tendency to land on your head. Some Cree friends refer to them as maskwategum, or 'black bear bugs', their bite being compared to a mauling by a bear.

Feat suggestion for a 6th level wizard

I'd vote for Craft Wand as (a) it effectively increases your total number of spells, and (b) it increases your versatility (by freeing up your spell slots for other spells).

You are arrested and thrown in prison, what do you do now?

Call my lawyer. Oh, er, you mean in a game.

What 1e/2e books are still useful to a 3rd edition DM?

On my shelf, I still have copies of the 1e Dungeon Masters Guide and the original Manual of the Planes, plus some of the old Mayfair Games supplements. That's in addition to a whackload of OD&D material for my Mystara game. Yep, fifteen years in the Known World and it keeps on going... and...

Ring of Sustenance and Growing Up

Why not try Murlynd's Spoon? It basically makes pablum for PCs, so why not babies? Seriously, the act of feeding an infant is a means to effect an emotional bond. Slapping a ring on it instead of feeding it is the equivalent of turning it over to a 'wire mother' --- you'll end up with...

What do you do with character sheets for slain characters?

I keep handy a rubber stamp that says 'DECEASED', courtesy of a stint in a government office. We stamp the dead and keep 'em in the deadbook, a special folder or section of the campaign book in which we keep character sheets, maps, notes, etc.

What race can you not bring yourself to play?

Halflings. Never liked the buggers. You want me to play a size Small PC, give me a kobold or goblin. I would have added elves to the list, until I started playing an elf fighter/ranger who has humans as a favoured enemy... he trained for a war that ended decades ago. At least the concept...

What class can you not bring yourself to play?

Still haven't tried the monk, and still not interested. Paladins are also low on the list, though I'm playing one now --- not in love with the class as written. Of the WotC non-core classes, I like most of 'em except for the Samurai, and then only because of its mechanics. I've seen other...

    What's the definition of Wargaming?

LOL --- I think I just LARPed all over myself.

    What's the definition of Wargaming?

I thought wargaming referred to table-top combat simulations --- in other words, things like HG Wells' Little Wars, the original Chainmail, Warhammer, and all those wacky Avalon Hill games. In other words, more tactical simulation than roleplaying.

Which Campaign Setting has the best fluff? Why?

Depends on how you define 'best'. (And I assume that we're talking D&D settings.) * Greyhawk's cultural history makes the most sense and the early stuff was fun to read. It has become a somewhat generic fantasy world. * FR has the most detail (though perhaps to an absurd degree). I've never...

    Campaign Classics is coming back!

I'll second that. Over the past few years, we've had to retrofit FR or generic material to fit the setting. I'm a bit tired of that, and if I want to put that much time on things I'd rather spend it on a homebrew. I am therefore pleased as punch with Erik's support for Greyhawk in the pages...
