You know that a level in one game is not the equivalent of a level in the other game, right? The scale changed, level is an arbitrary breakdown of character advancement based on the internal math of the system. That math is substantially different from OD&D to 3e. So, no, not 2-to-1 at all.

I agree with blargney and I think its quite cool that the final three were between three of the four classics. The fighter ftw and I DID read the post before I voted. Fighter has always been my favorite class, with wizard close behind.

Seconded, especially after the Dark Ages of 3e. The fighter can now hold his head high, drop a "you SHALL not pass" and mean it. That said, love me me some wizard. My favorite iteration of the class after 1e.
