The base? Did you post this as a new topic instead of in the thread you were replying to? Prepainted Medium figs are usually sold on a 25mm base, prepainted large figs are usually on a 50mm base. Not sure what the internal dimensions of the underside are though.

Right. Now what 5E needs is more Tiers of each monster, ala Diablo. Like 4-7 versions of a monster 2 CR points apart. I know, and there is no reason why a monster with one attack needs that weapon, all it does is cuts down on their range.

Does the CR math for the Balor seem to work if it gets the bonus damage* from the crit ability every hit? Maybe the devs added that in since CRing math assumes most potential damage on a round per round basis. *Just the extra damage granted by the ability, not including the dice anyone else...

That living allies are difficult terrain is bad enough, having foes corpses as obstacles seems grossly unfair in this edition as it is specifically designed so that large groups of lower level foes matter for a long time. Maybe if it's been magic'ed up to the power of a wood chipper or car grinder.
