    4E Class Survivor - Round 7

I remain committed to voting for the Warden. I don't really have anything new to add to my dislike. My one defense of Swordmages is that it sets up a possible all arcane party featuring Swordmages, Wizards, Sorcs, Warlocks, and Bards/Artificers, which you could use to make magical colleges...

    D&D 4E 4E Class Survivor - Round 6

Now that the Leaders are gone, I expect Swordmage/Invoker/Warden/Warlock to go next, in no particular order. Still voting for the Warden. It's the one 4E class that I literally have no desire to play. I will be sad when the 'lock goes, because of the fantastic flavor it represents, even...

DM ex Machina: New Column from Ari Marmell

I would also throw in another vote for footnotes being at the end of the article (or the bottom of the page if this was a book/magazine). Besides that, I haven't DM'd 4E in about six months, but I generally agree with you. Interestingly, I moved straight to allowing the players to dictate the...

    4E Class Survivor - Round 5

And the cleric surges to the lead. On one hand, I'm kinda surprised, but on the other hand I can't be given every single other leader was ganked. Also, I pretty much disgree about Str. or balanced clerics being useless. Sure, you may pay a 1 tax feat (not really that important in the long...

3rd Party Products - Do You Care?

Honestly, no, I'm not really interested in 3rd PP. I understand that alot of good came from the OGL, but I only bought about 5 3 PP in the existance of 3.X, and two of those were from Dragonlance. I will admit I almost always look over adventures, so those are the one product I would actually...

    4E Class Survivor - Round 5

Cleric should be safe this round. He's not new and shiny enough to get ganked this early. I'm still voting Warden, as I have every single round. If you vote off the 'lock, my two favorite classes will be gone 5 rounds into the voting. Wish upon a star is the best rules supplement to date...

    4E Class Survivor - Round 4

I know it's early still, but the leader purge continues on unabated.

    4E Class Survivor - Round 3

3 rounds, 3 leaders voted off. I predict a run on Controllers or Defenders next.

    4E Class Survivor - Round 2

Still voting for the Warden. I can't say I'm shocked that the leaders are getting voted off one after another. IME, leaders are usually the last role filled.

Best world books for different settings?

I've only played since AD&D, and only in 4 published settings: Eberron, Dragonlance, The Realms, and Ravenloft. IMHO, the Eberron Campaign Guide is better than the ECS. They took all the brilliance of the 3rd Ed book and polished it. It's a really good book, probably my favorite 4th Ed book...

    4E Class Survivor - Round 1

I'm voting off the Warden, though it looks like I'll be voting against it for awhile. I just don't understand the concept. I will be a sad panda if the Warlord, my favorite class, is eliminated in the first round.

Do you play RPGs at conventions?

IMHO, Call of Cthulu is made for convention play. I try to play in a CoC game at every Con, though I missed it at Gen Con this year due to scheduling conflicts. The Living Campaigns are hit or miss. For instance, I've played in the Sparks Star Wars d6 campaign twice now. The first time we had...

Best of the Best - TWF Ranger.

Half-Orc, hands down. Furious assault, perfect stat allocation, and awesome racial feats make this one a no-brainer. Plus, if all else fails and he has to pick up a Bow, he won't be terrible at it, unlike the Longtooth shifter.

    "True Dungeon?"

That price sounds about right. My friends and I planned on trying it out, but once we saw the price we played Star Wars d6 instead.

    wizards forums are up

Yeah, I'm currently using the DnD theme. I'm just so used to the Parchment setting from the previous board and this black board that the bright white forums is harder on the eyes.

Was D&D the game you introduced role playing with?

My very first roleplaying game was Rifts. I started playing Rifts in 6th Grade, then migrated to Star Wars d6, Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles, and then finally AD&D all in about 1 years time. I'll even admit that through high school, we mostly played Rifts, Vampire, and Call of Cthulu. AD&D...

David Noonens blog and D&D 4e's roles.

Nice walk through, interested to see where he's going with his alternatives.

    wizards forums are up

I wonder if this new format is how Wizards envisioned Gleemax. Here's my quick thoughts on the site as it stands: Likes: Wiki pages, groups, blogs. Dislikes: The hideous white screen of death, quotes being hard to make out, the running "what's new" list to the right, no quick reply button...

2 Years of Eric Noah + 8 Years of Morrus = 10 years of EN World!

As someone who lurked for a couple years prior to joining (and as someone who still mostly lurks), I'd like to congratulate the Powers that Be for running a fantastic ship. Grats on turning 10.

    Question about Shield Bash

I played a sword and board fighter as my first character in 4E for 6 months. Take it from my experience, this is wise advice.
