    Eye of Profane Truth

The guard frowns at Moreth and Cann. He has seen his share of drunks and madmen in the past, and now considers you among them. The crowd laughs and cheers at Moreth's speech, and it is obvious that he is not alone in his assessment. Turning to Rhakzan, who seems like the sole voice of reason...

Judgement Day: EVIL (Good stay out)

Alosat frowns at the lack of progress. It occured to him that what he had been trying to destroy might be an illusion all along. Almost subconsciously, he Shapechanges into a Balor and examines the gate and surrounding areas with its True Seeing. Regardless, he has been wasting precious time at...

    Eye of Profane Truth

You feel a dizziness coming over you. The world seemed to swirl and grow insubstantial. Then you collapse and fall into a deep, peaceful slumber... "Hey, wake up! No loitering!" You are awoken unceremoniously by the prodding of something unpleasant. You open your eyes groggily, to see a...

    Eye of Profane Truth

"Who is to say? I do not intend to interfere in your destinies, but the web of fate ensnares even ones such as I. Perhaps we will meet again. I hope we do so in happier times." "Meaning? Even as we speak, a billion souls, mortal and immortal alike, born and die. Great armies of demons and...

    T&B Spellsword

That last one is pretty cheap. Just bop some drunk in the tavern with your quarterstaff and you're done.

    Master Transmogrifist, Reflexive Change

From Reflexive Change: [...] If a master transmogrifist is currently under the effect of a Shapechange spell he cast on himself, he can use his reflexive change ability as often as he likes (although never more than once per round). Each time he uses it, he loses his next action. My question...

    Statue

I wouldn't use that in combat. As a statue you can't move. That means you'd be Helpless. It's good for disguise and ambush, but that's about it.

Judgement Day: EVIL (Good stay out)

/ooc: not Ethereal. Incorporeal. Incorporeality is not planar travel. And what about the surrounding rocks? Can they be burrowed through? Assuming not... Alosat Shapechanges into a Quesar (BoED) and activates Consuming Brilliance near the door. It and surrounding rocks within a 15ft radius, if...

    Eye of Profane Truth

"You have not noticed? This is not the mortal world. This is my demiplane." "I suppose you would not recognize it. It used to be a much brighter place. And," he gestured at the fish-wraiths, "it used to have better fishing. " "But divine energies are fickle while the Eye is open. In these...

    Eye of Profane Truth

"A little patience, my child. I do not mean to keep you here; you are free to leave at any time. But it is not every day that you can have the counsel of a god; this you should not waste. Come. Have a seat." "Sadly, my counsel is all that I can offer you, for now. I can feel the taint in...

    human sight?

There are many creatures that have entries such as 'can see as well as humans' or 'twice as well as humans in low-light conditions', etc. But how far is that, exactly? How far can a human see in daylight? Lowlight? /edit: hrm. Just remembered that's what Spot is for. Nevermind, then.

    Damage Reduction and Sneak Attack...

SRD, Damage Reduction: Whenever damage reduction completely negates the damage from an attack, it also negates most special effects that accompany the attack, such as injury type poison, a monk’s stunning, and injury type disease. So the question is: does sneak attack fall under the category...

    Eye of Profane Truth

"Here? This is... my retreat, that is all. A place to be away from the voices of mortals, who are ever so demanding of their gods. They call to me, asking for impossible things, day and night. It saddens me, but I cannot help them." The man idly swishes his fishing rod around. Looking down into...

Judgement Day: EVIL (Good stay out)

Alosat examines the doors in closer detail, tapping it to discern its material. If they are thin enough (thickness less than the height of a Huge creature), he will Shapechange into a Dream Vestige and go right through in its incorporeal state. If the door is backed by a Force effect, he will...

How many soldiers should protect a capital city?

Well... either the enemy is a large, low-level army - in which case a group of high-level adventurers/monsters will hit-and-run them to death, or the enemy is high-level, in which case it comes down to an even chance. Either way it's better to hire high-level things.

How many soldiers should protect a capital city?

Actually, since this is d&d, it might be better to hire adventurers/high-level monsters instead, and just keep enough soldiers around to police the city. Common soldiers are going to be little more than cannon fodder.

How many soldiers should protect a capital city?

Station your outposts with Runehounds (MMIII). They have 500ft blindsight, which is the closest you'll get to a radar. Also removes the need to build towers, since the outposts don't need to be tall, and you can camoflage them. 1% is still too low. With 1 million population: 50% are women. 50%...

Is there such a thing as an undead troll???

Huh. There's an interesting thought. A lich Shapechanges into a troll, and soaks up massive nonlethal damage. He changes back to lich. What happens to the damage? What if he changes back into troll next round?
