[Recruiting Fresh Again!] The Old School: 1e AD&D

Hey guys, I'll be at a games convention over the weekend (Cangames in Ottawa) so I doubt I'll be posting. I'm sure you'll all miss me ;)

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Beautifully struck Turthain! Ware the beasts tentacles!" Amirad deftly strikes out at the monster. (OOC: here's hoping we win initiative and/or none of us are paralysed.)

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Amirad's eyes widen in surprise at the monsters appearance, he had heard tales of this foul creature from his father. "Keep back from the beast if possible!" His blades strike out at zombie flesh.

Just a head's up, I'll be out of town for a few days and will have limited access to internet (as in basically nil). IVV pleas feel free to have Amirad boldly attack and charge things. Cause that's just the kind of guy he is.

Hmm that kind of damage seems best left to the chance of a cure light wounds. I think I'll just attack this round. Amirad attempts to put an end to at least one of the Zombies unatural life.

I believe we are on the next round yes. Austins at 3 of 8 hp??

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Do you require aid cousin? Or shall I continue to pummel these monsters?" i.e. Amirad could use his lay on hands to heal 2 on Austin. Not sure what the inventory of healing is like.

He already did. Ah the busy harried Dungeon Master. B-)

This is true. The difference in having a paladin is that all potential evil 'short-term allies' have big glowing signs around their neck that say "this is a bad idea, I'm evil!" Ah detect evil, I should make use of that. Speaking of, can I get a sense from the 'approaching' thing (swarm of...

IVV are we using negative hitpointe rules or are we dead at below 0?

    Also a +1 with the longsword ;)

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"My blades shall hold back the vile undead." Amirad is clearly oblivious to the surging insects as he launches a blistering assault, to little effect. as long as there is someone else engaged with an opponent you can withdraw and that opponent can not follow. (I can only find the OSRIC...

Yep, no worries. Could get lucky too. Only the natural 19 is likely to hit any of us. And the natural 12 will hit the zombies. As your and elf with a bow you get another +1 to hit (so +2 with dex and race bonus), or a 18 THAC0 if you prefer.

[Recruiting Fresh Again!] The Old School: 1e AD&D

By the book missiles fired at a melee have an equal chance of hitting any of the melee combatants. So IVV should be rolling a "d5" twice. Good chance one of us might get tagged.

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Amirad casts a concerned look towards Zhantain but being engaged, resolves to dispatch the zombies with all haste and then see if he can aid his companion. He attacks the vile undead with sword and axe. He stikes several gashes with his axe into one of the creatures that would normally have...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Amirad drops the torch, and moves calmly to engage the two undead with sword and axe. Assuming he can engage both . . . or just the closest :) Zombies tend not to be particularly surprising (they do automatically move last in initiative as well.) As I don't feel like charging, moving to...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Amirad attacks the darkness with his torch! (sorry couldn't resist. Seriously though what do we see in the big chamber?)
  19. Thondor

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Hmmm, perhaps another light." Amirad slips a torch from his pack and lights it from Lidia's lantern. He passes it to his cousin, "If you wouldn't mind continuing to keep an eye on that passage, I think the rest of us should explore this here chamber." He lights another torch for himself and...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Amirad smiles and nods at Maurials comment. To Turthain he says, in a hushed but carrying voice, "Sometimes your so quiet I nearly forget your here." He turns and faces the only passage out of the chamber with the lift, "At this point there is only one straight course, to move forward and...
