Twitter and D&D - How I came to love this combo

A little over a year ago, I created a Twitter account just to check it out. After a few days, I gave it up. I didn't see the point. I was staring at a page of mine that had no followers, and I knew of almost no one I wanted to follow (just a few friends was it). I also didn't get what was...

    What Are You Listening To?

Not really binging no, hehe. It's simply what is appealing to me more right now. I go back and forth between the two as the mood changes ;) I mostly listen to rock, but rap is up there - a close second. I generally prefer that style as well - the more underground, or more lyrically intelligent...

[Dark Sun, any edition] Campaign mini-plots

Very interesting, I like it - it's inspired a number of ideas for ME, and I'm not even the OP!

Make Your Own Condition Markers Effect Markers Out of Paper Clips

Love this kinda stuff - easy and cheap/free! I made a post a while back about using paint swatches (free at places like Home Depot) for example. As you mentioned, these are nice as they don't go under the fig. Thanks again for dropping in, and welcome to EN World!

Someone is Bringing Pizza to the Game Tonight

I'll eat just about any pizza, as long as... a) it is not a "taco" pizza b) it doesn't have anchovies

What software (D&D/TTRPG-related) do you wish existed?

I was reading about some peoples hopes for WoTC stuff that hasn't happened (the VTT for example), and more recently about the troubles with Masterplan and I was thinking about what I wished I had right now (software-wise). The thing is, there were a few ideas that I thought would be cool, but...

    Freeform initiative alternative

(I'm playing 4e with this method, fyi) Getting an initiative bonus is about getting to act first, or at least before as many of your enemies as possible... the desire for the bonus, in other words, is a desire to go before them initially. There's really no difference after that between the...

Big Bang Theory and the Dungeon Master's Guide

I just got into this show myself about a week ago (I'm halfway into Season 1). I agree with Morrus about the laugh track - it was ("was") VERY loud and annoying to me - but that was just the Pilot episode. It was immediately toned back by the second episode (along with the annoying green lights...

    Dealing With Prisoners

As a DM, I don't mind my players taking prisoners, but that's probably because they only do it when they are sure the one they are fighting has information that will help them with something. They don't take everyone prisoner, etc. With that said, we have been playing it almost like being...

    New D&D Terminology

How about "Feat Tax"? It seems like something that could have been around a while, but I didn't hear it until 4e was out. Not that I hear everything immediately of course, hence the question - but in quick search, I see all 4e references (at least those related to D&D). Was this term...

Weem’s DM Tips for RP Prompting and Immersion

Indeed. I always talk to my players with the voice of the NPC. If a player says, "Well, I ask him about the wagon", I will generally respond with something like, "what do you ask?" which reminds them that they need to be more specific and in most cases, they use their characters' voice. If...

    New D&D Terminology

We've been saying that in our group for quite a while after I heard it from who knows where, hehe - I'm sure others do as well because wherever I heard from came from some video online or somewhere around here. Same with ghetto fail for rolling one's on damage :( <edit> Found some references...
