More than 100 Books? Forked Thread: How many 3.5E books do (did) you own?

Maybe about 120 or so, not counting PDFs. (If there’s one good thing about 4e, it’s that the 3.5 PDFs over at drivethru are in most cases a lot cheaper now.) I would buy almost every monster book released. I also liked to pick up the more toolbox style books as opposed to the setting specific books.

    GSL Update 12/18/08

    So, any update?

Have You Purchased Any Additional 4e Supplements Beyond the First Three Core Books?

No. I purchased the three 4e core books because I preordered them sight unseen from my FLGS. Different people in my group run different games on alternating weeks. I've been playing 4e almost every other week since it's release, and honestly it's only because I enjoy hanging out with my friends...

Did You Buy the First Three 4e Core Books?

Yes, but only because the owner of my FLGS offered a really good deal.

    Could it be Cthulhu?

When I read this, I imagine someone in overalls and a dusty old ten gallon hat trying to give a friendly warning to some city slickers. Which, of course, gives me an idea for a game.

The Plane of Christmas: Where should it go?

It would be on the outer planes. You kids and your “feywild”. :-)

Is eBay it for out of prints?

There is also the occasional game store. If you live anywhere near Kansas City, I would recommend Monty’s. The place is a treasure trove of old games. I was able to complete my spelljammer collection there, my friend nick was able to pick up a bunch of hackmaster stuff, and last time I was there...

What should I choose for my next system?

I want to second this. Were it not for one of my players, my rebooted spelljammer game would have been run using d20 modern.

How do you handle a missing player

if that player is missing for a session, then the character stays behind at home base, or stays on the ship. Everyone stays at the same XP level.

Running a business in the game

The players in my current game are starting a colony to support the pirating efforts. They basically offered villagers from a nation that was constantly under siege safety if they would move and become the farmers and craftsman on their asteroid.

How Much Gaming Stuff Do You Need?

To game I need dice, pencils, paper and at least one copy of the core rulebook for the system we’re playing that day. Anything else is nice, but unnecessary.

    GEN CON being sold?

I’m hoping that it stays in Indy for the foreseeable future. Anything much farther than that and I wouldn’t be able to drive there, and as far as costs Indy is not bad at all.

    Is momentum conserved when teleporting?

I’ve never understood why people have such problems with letting players beam out of a fall. As far as my games are concerned, if they want to use a teleport like a high level feather fall, I have no problem with it.

    Topps Shuts Down WizKids

I would not be opposed to Catalyst buying WizKids.

Have you seen an Aboleth in game?

I ran one during the last few levels of my old 3.5 Spelljammer game. It was made even better because during character creation for that game one of the players was asking for advice on skill point allocation and another player told him “Why would you need swim in a space game?”

    Cursed Items

The only cursed items I’ve ever given out as a game master were more annoying to use than actually being considered cursed, as there effects were really just kind of silly and easily removed. I’ve only given them out once, in a temple that the PCs knew was a trap from the beginning. Otherwise...

What class are you least likely to play in 4e?

Wizards, because they were thrown off the white cliffs of nerf. If I had two choices, the second one would be warlord, because I don’t like purely support characters.

    Light Ballista

In 4e all proficiency bonuses are +2 unless they’re not. Generally only swords get +3.

    What's up with OOTS?

A once a week strip isn’t a bad thing. What is a bad thing in my opinion is the fact that he seems to be trying to master decompressed storytelling at the same time. /In the words of monty python “Get on with it!”
