Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

Well, they are and aren't. The smaller creatures running around in Moria are generally called goblins, and then the larger ones hunting the Fellowship, the ones that kill Boromir, are generally called orcs, and then the even bigger and smarter ones are the man-orcs, or Uruk-Hai, created by Saruman.

Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

I don't remember this much fuss when WotC published Mythic Odysseys of Theros, which definitely restricts which creatures/PC races exist in the setting.

Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

Eh, when it comes to fantasy games, I never play human PCs. I am one in real life, so why the heck would I play a fantasy one?

Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

Orcs are old and tired and boring as a race and concept. They do not exist in my fantasy homebrew, either as antagonists or as PC options.

D&D General Sacred Hamburger - What classic elements of D&D do you disregard?

The garbage that is the Vancian magic system. We could not stand the "fire and forget" part of it, so most of my old groups ran magic in the way that would eventually become the sorcerer.

I Am Your Father! The Spoiler Spoiler Thread -- What are the biggest ever spoilers? [spoilers]

Branching into video games: Aerith (Aeris) is murdered by Sephiroth

    Star Wars: Andor

You know what the whole "prisoner in charge of the other prisoners" thing made me think of right away, which younger folks would not see, if they don't know their history? Concentration camps and how certain Jewish prisoners were put in charge of keeping the others in line and behaving.

D&D General Hasbro Pulse announces D&D Dicelings.

One thing I did forget and found again when searching is the two prequel novels for two of the movie characters. But that is generally not the type of tie-in merchandise I was thinking of.

D&D General Hasbro Pulse announces D&D Dicelings.

Never saw either of those. Are they officially licensed/made by Hasbro or some Etsy knock-off thing? Edit: found the cube. https://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-Gaming-Gelatinous-Collectible-Compatible/dp/B0B5JLLB5C?ref_=ast_sto_dp

D&D General Hasbro Pulse announces D&D Dicelings.

The numbers look raised up, so nothing to fill in to make legible. Maybe some paint and brushes used for miniatures to make the numbers more visible?

D&D General Hasbro Pulse announces D&D Dicelings.

@darjr I think you and the rest missed the other thing about these. As far as I can tell, they are the first officially-branded movie merchandise. Time to start a thread to track all the movie tie-in announcements? :)

    Star Wars: Andor

Well, this show is certainly slowing back down again, almost as bad as the first two episodes. I almost did not even finish the latest one.

Doctor Who: Jodie Whitaker’s last episode [spoilers]

Except that will all change with the Disney+ deal. That starts with the three Tennant specials and then continues with the new Doctor, so comparing to past performance outside the UK will be difficult, especially since I don't think Disney releases streaming numbers the way Netflix and others...

Doctor Who: Jodie Whitaker’s last episode [spoilers]

So no watching the MCU or Star Wars shows or the Willow or Percy Jackson series (once those start)?

"Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania" trailer released

Hard to say and would have to check back on the other Ant-Man movies, as it seemed to imply that he was protected from the Snap while he was in the Quantum Realm, so the Quantum Realm may be unique. The next question is whether the Kang they meet there is a good, neutral, or evil version. We...

Doctor Who: Jodie Whitaker’s last episode [spoilers]

The Plus for this (heh) is that this new deal will reach many more markets than BBCAmerica and other outlets ever did. The UK and Ireland will still watch on BBC, but the rest of the world will get it on D+, and assuming Star, the international version of D+/Hulu for more adult stuff.

Doctor Who: Jodie Whitaker’s last episode [spoilers]

Not upset, just the usual typed word not representing intent. It was more coming out of you saying "Article?" like you did not know what an article was. lol

Doctor Who: Jodie Whitaker’s last episode [spoilers]

I guess that means the D&D movie and D&D LEGO articles need to be removed, since they are not directly about the game? Besides, there are Doctor Who RPGs, so this has as much, or as little, connection as those do to actual gaming.

Doctor Who: Jodie Whitaker’s last episode [spoilers]

And if you live outside the UK, all new episodes starting in 2023 will now stream on Disney Plus! I had no idea that deal was being worked on. @Morrus is this big enough news for it's own article? https://www.doctorwho.tv/news-and-features/bbc-and-disney-branded-television-join-forces-on-doctor-who
