Uniting the Editions, Part 3 - Poll

Action Points: I'd like it in some form, one can of Popeye spinach each session Critical Fumbles: and usually a humorous effect when it happens too Critical Hits: keep them, players love the "home run" Exotic Weapons: no interest Feats: resigned to them Gender based ability maximums: no comment...

    How about alignment?

I prefer the AD&D 9 alignments and the unaligned option. I'd like it complete with mechanical effects on the game including spells, class abilities and class restrictions.

    Gunslinger in core?

I'd like to have that line drawn here. Hopefully it's one of those things WOTC pledges to "look in to" as an option, but they never get around to it.

    Legends and Lore for 2/13

I voted for Vancian magic, saving throws, magic missiles that never miss, action points, critical hits and fumbles, morale rules and system shock. The rest I can do without, but I'm not going into a rage if they're included.

Do You Want A D&D That Is "Faster, Better, Smarter"?

Hopefully I don't have to pay six million dollars (in 1974 dollars) for this game.

    Is random good?

I like random. Given my golf game, Lord knows I'm used to it. :hmm:

    Do you mark your books?

NEVER! I wouldn't even buy used textbooks in college if they had been marked.

    WotC as the Panda...

I need to go check youtube and see if Hitler has found out about 5th Edition yet.

    D&D 5E (2014) No longer interested in 5e now

Hasbro had it inserted into the back of the Obama Health Care Act. As of 2014, all D&D games (including Patherfinder) must be 5th Edition. ;)

Poll - which classes have you played.

my top 3 played 1. wizard 2. paladin 3. cleric others played ranger, illusionist (and other specialists), sorcerer, druid, warlock, avenger, invoker, swordmage, shaman, warden, monk and elf In over three decades of playing I've never been a fighter, thief, barbarian or assassin. I have also...

Core Classes: What and how many

I can see them releasing a basic box set with just these four classes followed very quickly by a PHB that has a lot more. If 5e is about unifying the editions, there will need to be a lot of 4e races and classes available to play right from the start.

Brand New Players: Make Character, or use Sample Character?

While playing the campaign requires the whole team, character creation does not. For new players it is usually just me and the player, no one else waiting around impatiently for the game to start.

    D&D 5E (2014) The 5E Dice Aesthetic

I'd like to see all the non d20s used more. Unify the editions, unify the dice!

Which core races have you played?

human, elf, half-elf, dragonborn, deva, eladrin and dwarf

    Restrictions on races and classes.

I'm in favor of lots of benefits and lots of restrictions for races and classes. If the dwarven wizard and chaotic good paladin are left on the side of the road, so be it.

Kitchen Sink or Limits, Which for You?

A small kitchen sink, more like a bathroom sink. If there's demand for the non classic D&D races/ classes I'll include them. Dragonborn were so popular for 4e I kicked the gnomes out of Greyhawk's Kron Hills and installed them there. That's a big exception though. While my players love to make...

How do you like your elves?

I like elves to be Spock to a humans Kirk.

    D&D 5E (2014) Should Rangers Have Spells in 5e?

I prefer my ranger with spells. As a class I'd like to play, the ranger has taken the biggest fall from 1e to now.

D&D 4E An Olive Branch to 4e Fans: Some Things 5e Should Take From 4e

I'd like to keep minions and rituals around. I'd also liked the teamwork aspect of 4e groups. Leaders were my second favorite group to play after controllers. I hope a lot of the the new classes, races and monsters are kept around.
