I'm thinking the LG Paladin should be the class default in the PHB and then the other eight themes can be developed for later. They can each have their own sets of goodies and restrictions. I'm also going to guess the 17 charisma minimum is probably still out.

In the opinion of this DM, if he isn't Lawful Good, he isn't a Paladin. I'd also like to bring back the tithing 10%, giving away most wealth, and number limit of magic items as well. I might be open to him not being a human.

The 5e DMG can bring the guidelines and suggestions, I'll bring the 1e style restrictions.

I also would like racial bonuses and penalties to be stronger. I do like what I'm hearing in general as a DM. 4d6 drop the lowest is my preferred method of generation, so I'm glad that's still around.

I've seen a lot of dragonborn since 4e debuted and I greatly enjoyed it when I played one. If WOTC asked me which five races should be included in the 5e "Basic set" I'd say human, elf, dwarf, halfling and dragonborn.
