The New Forgotten Realms - (About) A Year Later

Fortunately, the split is only in regards to Forgotten Realms, all six of us prefer 4E over 3E. I know of DMs that had to trade players so everybody got to play the edition they wanted to. Thursday night I went into a FLGS and they had two groups scheduled for the night. The regular 4E group...

    Dice Mojo Rituals

For character generation I always use the dice from the Yahtzee game I got as a kid. I still have my dice from the box set I got as a kid, but they are retired so I don't lose them.

Are you a Casual, Serious, or Hardcore RPG gamer?

Serious, but D&D is my third biggest hobby after golf and comic books.

The New Forgotten Realms - (About) A Year Later

Finally Forgotten Realms looks like something I'd be happy to DM. Of course, none of the FR fans in my group want to have anything to do with the 4E setting.

The Myth of Games that Suck

It's been twenty years and I'm STILL cranky. Grognards, not a myth. (I play board wargames too so I'm a double grognard ;)) Bad games, not a myth either. And I have the Atari E.T. video game cartridge to prove it.

Ok, so what's the 2011 setting...?

Not a clone, lodge member perhaps? I love 4E, but WOTC has done a brilliant job of reviving things off my most hated list in the last year, Psionics, the Assassin and now Dark Sun. So I fully expect and dread some sort of horror setting would be in the offing for next year.

Ok, so what's the 2011 setting...?

Hopefully, something I'd consider buying. Eberron and Dark Sun are two of my least favorite settings. To complete the trifecta, next year should be Ravenloft's turn.

So, what is "4th Edition's Tomb of Horrors"?

I'd be happy with 4E versions of as many classic D&D modules as they can make.

Why is there a rush to define vintage gaming?

I'm going to have to round myself up? 1e saved me from 3e in the first place, I don't want to be "rescued" by 3e players. :(

Mercs, cohorts, and hirelings—do you let your players use them?

Yes. This is one of the things from 1e I've tried to keep in recent editions. If only the men at arms would quit wearing red tunics.

Why is there a rush to define vintage gaming?

We shouldn't have talked about how much we were enjoying playing the old games. They sniffed out our happiness and now we must suffer like the rest. :( Well, they can suffer. I'm taking my Red Box and going home. And play! :)

Why is there a rush to define vintage gaming?

You get the years supply of Turtle Wax and the Rice a Roni.

What version of D&D are you playing?
