    Warlord buffs

Melee and close burst descriptors are for range (and some behavior, since close doesn't incur OA) of the initial action of the power. You will never see close burst or area on anything where the power is initiated by making a single attack on a target within melee weapon range. You will only...

    Warlock, Shadow Walk and Stealth

Wrong shadow. You just attacked your own. Now it's mad, good job.

    Half-Elves and wands

Oh noes, a Wizard can cast a Warlock encounter spell from a Wand once per day, with an additional for tier and milestones. He'd be better off taking a power swap feat.

    Healing Potions seem odd

Except it absolutely does no such thing as you claim it does. It just eliminates the old contingencies. Want a contingency, want to plan ahead? Be sure you have extra healing surges available. Do not waste them all. If you're out, you're not "in a bad spot," you've already passed the bad spot...

    Warlock, Shadow Walk and Stealth

Succeeding at a stealth check implies that whatever you did to hide, you did it in such a way that they lost track of where you were and no longer know where you are. If you know the specific square a creature is in, he is not hidden. To know would violate the meaning of him being hidden...

    Warlock, Shadow Walk and Stealth

If enemies are capable of communicating with each other, they can point out the locations of any enemies they know.

    Warlock, Shadow Walk and Stealth

You're missing that even if he loses against 1 enemy's perception, that enemy can point him out to others. Is this annoying you? Because, you can always get the biggest guy in your group to "ask" him to stop making so many unnecessary rolls every single turn.

    Half-Elves and wands

I stand corrected on the point of "nothing to suggest this is how it works." The better way to phrase it would seem "do you need to be able to use a wand as an implement to use a wand's power?" I should think so, but don't recall it being explicitly stated. Because you most definitely do not...

    Half-Elves and wands

There is nothing to even suggest this is how things work.

    Throwing Weapon Return

I've been reading the Drizzt books, so I would describe it like Aegis Fang. It just appears in your hand when you call it (as a free, assumed, action).

    Saves and Ready Actions

I guess I need to reread that section. I thought there were two kinds of moves, the delay and the readied action. Delay would change your initiative order and result in a later save. Readied action would not.

    Sleeping in Armor

The "official" rule is "it's ill-advised to create situations that come close to unfairly shutting down major functions of a class."

    Riposte Strike and ranged attacks

Numerous powers carry a different range for additional effects than the range cited of the power. Look at Warlord powers, which have a Melee Weapon range, but grant bonuses to "all allies" or "an ally within 5 squares." You don't think those allies have to be within melee weapon range of the...

    Riposte Strike and ranged attacks

I'm tempted to say that you ruled right. The melee mention of the power only necessarilly refers to the initial attack. However, given that the riposte is strength based, it would seem they intended the entire thing to be melee-only.

Casting spells while your hands are full?

I read about a DM who has his players pick a method of spellcasting, verbal or gesture, so he could know which way in particular to stop them when desired.

    Saves and Ready Actions

Limits on triggers is a DM decision, as far as I can tell.

Casting spells while your hands are full?

The DMG comments that a DM may choose to limit spellcasting under certain conditions, which could include bound or gagged.

    D&D 4E 4e query

It'd be wise to be careful with this. It'll start with using a cantrip to blind an enemy. Next thing you know, you're rolling perception checks for the Dragon every round because the Ranger Twin-Striked his eyes out in the surprise round and the Warlock is wanting to know if he can Hurl only the...
