    Magic item rarity revision forthcoming?

    - - - Huh, if you say that beast companion and familiar rules not there now I'll take your word for it, but I'm certain Rituals are in there (one of your examples), and I know that there previously was enough info either in CB or in the Compendium to play a beast dude... or maybe someone talked...

    What makes E6 "gritty"?

In that case, don't worry about E6 or whatever. Just play D&D. As your game progresses and you see the effects of various levels on play, you'll get a feel for what you like and what you don't. THEN, after you know how it feels to play D&D at a bunch of different levels, you can come back here...

    What makes E6 "gritty"?

That depends on what you mean by "superpowers". Raising the dead? Surviving a 100 ft. fall? Teleporting around the world? Casting magic missile at the darkness? Cheers, -- N

    Magic item rarity revision forthcoming?

Of those, I have used Familiars, Beast Companions, Rituals and Skill Powers entirely based on the information in DDI. If you think the DDI doesn't give enough info to use those things, you are flat-out wrong. The other things I haven't used, so I can't assert that you are wrong about style...

The Best Class/Build for My Party's Leader?

Since you have two non-melee attackers in your party, I think you'll get better mileage out of effects that don't rely on melee attacks. Righteous Brand can be awesome in the right party, but in this party it only works if the Fighter is in the right position. It basically means your Cleric and...

    Magic item rarity revision forthcoming?

Like what? Some books are fun to read. Those books are NOT 4e. 4e books read like a VCR manual. People not buying the books == less book sales. How can you think it means anything different? ... but that's irrelevant to my point. My point is: their current set-up already means some people...

    Magic item rarity revision forthcoming?

I haven't bought any books since I realized everything shows up in the CB and/or Compendium, for which I do pay. Putting stuff out for testing won't make me (or other subscribers like me) buy less than zero books. Cheers, -- N

Joining party that has on going "fight" between wizard and Psion

Not that I've seen. A cheesed-out Cleric or Druid could eat both for lunch, but why would you want to do that? Intra-party bickering doesn't sound like my kind of fun anyway. Cheers, -- N

Your Group is Missing a Role

Is "swingy" the opposite of "grindy"? If so, let there be swing! Cheers, -- N

    Bards, Badass or Not

"Implicit" does not mean "secret" or "poorly understood", so you're not making any sense here. This is exactly what "implicit" means: not just coming right out and saying something. Seriously, go look it up. You won't gain any nitpick points if you are the only one making a mistake about a...

    Magic item rarity revision forthcoming?

That's hilarious. Were they all vanilla Rangers, or did they use builds which took them into other roles (i.e. you can turn a Ranger into a Defender with the right paragon path)? Cheers, -- N

    Bards, Badass or Not

Yep yep. Barbarian is useful for four things: 1/ Longbow proficiency. 2/ +10 ft. movement (use this extra movement to run away from melee). 3/ d12 HP and a reasonable skill list. 4/ Rage (1/day panic button) -- helps cover your bases: extra HP, implicit boost to Fort saves, explicit boost to...

Your Group is Missing a Role

Not more or less than any other party. It's true that you could build an all-Leader party that is ineffective, but that doesn't speak to my point at all. You could easily create an ineffective party with any selection of roles. Hmm. Is the Taclord strong enough to hit stuff himself, or is he...

    Magic item rarity revision forthcoming?

None the less, they make chronic errors. For example: every NPC in 3.x had errors in its stat block, sometimes in the use of the PrC or class rules it was meant to showcase. You're the one who's bored here. A good DM can run damn near anything. A good game can be run by a mediocre DM. Why is...

    Magic item rarity revision forthcoming?

So far as I have seen, the only person in this thread bringing up anything like those hyperbolic complaints is you. There are lots of other threads on the forum. No need to stay here and be bored. Drop the derisive, mocking tone, and I'd be happy to oblige. Previously: Humble Hamster - "Can I...

Your Group is Missing a Role

BTW, a party of four Leaders is 100% viable, and fun (as they buff each other to Striker-level damage), and very strong. Cheers, -- N

    Magic item rarity revision forthcoming?

If we never tell them that they did something bad, how will they learn? If they never learn, how will they do better next time? The stifling silence you champion is bad for the game you like. If they did a whole bunch of work in secret -- and then threw the work away -- and the results of...

    Bards, Badass or Not

That's true. In my build, I use the Barbarian's primary attack as a backup threat -- don't get into melee or you'll make me angry, and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry. I picked the Warblade for equality with the Barbarian's HP and skill points, but the Crusader is great too. Cheers, -- N

    Bards, Badass or Not

Yeah, it's true that Whirling Frenzy is very strong. It's the opposite use-case from the regular Rage, though: the Core-only Bardarian uses his Rage as an emergency unavoidable melee consolation prize. The Whirling Frenzy Bardarian uses his Frenzy to enhance his normal attack of choice...
