    Games That Really "Wowed" You?

Is DCC that old? I thought it was released in 2003 under the OGL... I miss previous products... What was the first book published in 1993?

    Artworks in an RPG

Apologies, i'd like to wrap some points up so that we focus on the question is still have to understand: 1. Art is not graphic info, my question doesn't focus on a good rendering of some concepts via icons or colored frameworks in a page... This is another topic. My concern is about artworks in...

    Artworks in an RPG

Well i did some search on this... I am still in doubt this is a saying (i'd rather say it is a good ad takeaway... I remember the ad of diamonds using smtg similar...): this is a sentence by Mao.

    Artworks in an RPG

That is an opinion, you took an example which doesn't grant an objective conclusion. And moreover, even, if your logic might be applied to rpgs, i still miss the why... I am convinced for a setting (as i wrote befohand), i still miss why an artowork should help the reader in a game mechanics...

    Artworks in an RPG

Sorry but none of these points are good to the example i provided (the chapter about PCs progression), i am with you in case we are talking about a setting, no doubts on that...

    Artworks in an RPG

Sorry, no offense intended but this is not the correct saying (at least here in Italy)... It'd be: "silence is worther than 1000 words", or namely "silence is golden, words are made of silver"...

    Artworks in an RPG

Ok, thanks. Back to the first question: i didn't want to discuss whether or or not artworks support the game towards TOTM models rather than grid+minis model. This is a matter on how the game is managed by the GM (and accepted by players) and it depends solely by their choice... My question was...

    Artworks in an RPG

Ok, now that it is clear that artworks can grant several benefits for the reading (not for the in-game moments), I have another question for those who think artworks are effective for in-game moments: you (a player) and your fellows enter in a room (this is simply the GM description). There is a...

    Artworks in an RPG

Thanks! Now it is clear! I miss how this aspect is related to thr presence or not of artworks but i do understand now. I also play with pencil and paper but without grid and minis... I have been playing this way since the very beginning, in 1983!

    Artworks in an RPG

That is smtg i didn't take into consideration! Now that i read you, i also have a reply about the abstract artworks of some games like Mork Borg and a great example from the past: the Planescape setting! Ok, that is rather clear! That was not even under discussion! Sorry, what does TOTM stand for?

    Artworks in an RPG

Sorry, disdain for what? I don't think to disdain anything related to rpgs... Again, sorry, you misunderstood my idea: i was not aiming to say that every single person around the table should have his own idea of how a claymore is... I wanted to say that if there is not a picture of a claymore...

    Favorite "Homeric" RPG or Setting

I have read only good comments about Agon but never read it... Being both aged and a collector my preference goes to Odysseus by FGU

    Artworks in an RPG

I get all your points, i am not against any of them as i do recognize that artworks are an important part in an RPG book... Still i wonder why: this because RPG are the paramount of imagination to my eyes! Being games where ppl sit around the table and imagine collectively a story to live...

    Artworks in an RPG

The question seems simple but it might have some considerations that I am not sure I know and therefore I likely miss the whole picture: why are artworks in an RPG book so important? A good book would sell also for the contents regardless to the presence of internal artworks? I imagine that the...

D&D General Lists of official D&D things and where to find them

Well VoP has several lists made by fans... They are supposed to stick with canon but i do not strictly consider as canon... And moreover: there are so many resources that it'd be impossible to list all of them...

    Games That Really "Wowed" You?

I will never stop to reccomend "Tiers Age": a Tolkien based RPG... It is for free however i found only two versions of this game: one in french (the original language), the second in italian. This is the most well conceived RPG in terms of role-play!

D&D General Lists of official D&D things and where to find them

Is this a list of resources with a canon source or not? Apologies it is not clear to me. Should you be open to list also non-canon lists, i'd reccomend to look up in the Vault of Pandius for additional material referred to BECMI/RC (and even other editions)

OD&D How are your original dice holding up?

I have never used the dice from the D&D sets... I used gamescience dice: the quality was better than the original D&D dice however i was often disappointed by the low results of both d6 and d8 (my pc used not to hurt too much his enemies during combat... He was a "gentle" cleric who worshipped...
