I highly suggest you check out MapTool (see sig). It's got a bunch of features out of the box that will let you run it the way you'd like, it works great with a projector in-person game (we used an LCD TV, too). There's also tons of 4E specific settings / macros / power managers / whatever else...

I like 4E's treasure guidelines a lot. We're leveling a lot faster in my current game than we should be... mainly because I have a very good idea of the story arc and where they want to be and we agreed we'd rather play through several levels of 4E in our limited time and tell a great story...

I sent in a "suggestion" that they release the phb2 stuff on release days. Wotc's customer service rep replied back very quickly (and was very friendly!) stating that it was unlikely but that they would bring it up at the next meeting as an option for major releases (read: not going to happen)...

Some weapons *do* work that way... if I remember correctly a player of mine toyed with picking up a weapon that dealt extra damage to Fey creatures. I wonder if "Resist Arcane 5" as a daily power for an armor or something might be used as well if they were typed?
