D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

In 2024 the default alignments for Goblins are Chaotic Neutral and Fey, while Kobolds are now Neutral and Dragons. Hobgoblins and Bugbears are also Fey, but still have the same default alignments as before. They're still not necessarily "civilized" people, but I'd suspect there'd be some...

D&D General The ph icon characters

Some of those 2024 PHB characters show up in more than once in the art. I'd like to know some of the stories behind them, out of interest. Like are the Tiefling Bard with Elven features and the Elven Sorcerer siblings? How did the College of Dance Bard end up in a party with the Dragonborn...

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

I noticed that Topaz Dragons back in Fizban's Treasury of Dragons had reverse wings but it looks like the art for them (linked below) in the Book of Dragons really emphasizes that feature on them. Is it really that "controversial"? I like that they're wings are that way, along with the...

D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

The way that Metaplots in various TTRPGs have turned out have left a bad taste in general. They lost their appeal sometime between 2000 and 2010. What happened with the various D&D campaign settings is one of the strongest examples of why they were a bad thing, but also White Wolf deciding to...

D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

I don't care much for FR lore, but I feel they should change some aspects of it over editions. I think they're no longer considering anymore that Dwarves couldn't be Wizards before and no longer acknowledge any lore about why they couldn't and why that changed. And I wouldn't consider...

Dungeons & Dragons Teams Up With New Holland For New Beer

The minimum suggested age is 12, so in 7 years in my province or 9 years in the US they start to become of drinking age. I guess that's one way to acknowledge those who have been playing the game for years.

Dungeons & Dragons Teams Up With New Holland For New Beer

It's legal in all of Canada, but I'm quite sure it's not allowed to cross international borders yet. Though I think someone should make an edible in the form of a D20.

    D&D General Kara Tur 5e

Every time someone brings up "but what about the PRC, we can't include anything Chinese because of that" I see it as an excuse to exclude Canadian/American/Australian/whatever born Chinese like me.

    D&D General Kara Tur 5e

There's not only East Asian Elves in the PHB, the same picture that has an East Asian Elf has a Gnome with African features in it. The Halfling species art, has a Halfling mother and her child that look South Asian. The Iconic Cleric Picture in the PHB is of a Dwarf with East Asian features. The...

    D&D General Kara Tur 5e

I don't see there being a good reason for Spirit Folk being a separate species in 5e, either they're a Planetouched species like Genasi, or they're Elves. With there being East Asian Elves featured in the PHB art (such as on the back cover), there's absolutely no reason for certain PC species...

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

I think Genasi in the 2024 format can be printed as 1 species with 4 different legacies/affinities/whatever. Reborn could be reprinted, as I think Dhampirs would be actual humanoids despite the vampirism, but Reborn would be the actual Undead PC species.

D&D 5E (2014) Alternate Covers of Upcoming Forgotten Realms Books Revealed

That really reminds me of Dragon Age Veilguard, with some of in game illustrations and the cards.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

If the first one is the Bladesinger, they look more like a Monk to me than a Wizard.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

I recognize her as the Wizard that's on the cover of the Monster Manual with Minsc and on page 176 of the PHB with Drizzt.

Wizards of the Coast Reveals Revised Eberron Species Details

I think using German might be a bad example in many cases, as someone can be of a Turkish background and be born in Germany and really not be much of an outsider because a lot of Germans happen to be of Turkish backgrounds.

Eberron: Forge of the Artificer Delayed Until December

Is the problem with the material for the cover they used? It looks too thick to me in those pictures.

You'd probably feel better if you had tentacles, I don't think they get that sore.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Gladiator: The Narrative Dissonance

I view (Warrior) Veterans as being very tough, they're certainly more powerful than a 3rd level fighter despite being CR 3. They're probably more in line with a 5th level fighter. But that's the thing, they're NPCs they don't have all the extra abilities PCs get like Mastery options and Action...

Wizards of the Coast Reveals Revised Eberron Species Details

One thing I'm sure we won't see in the future is "Mul" for Athasian Dwarf and Human mixtures, especially if Dark Sun does eventually comes back as a campaign setting. And they quietly dropped Tallfellow (Elf-Halflings) and Stout Halflings (Dwarf-Halflings) already, they were always presented...
