Left Behind [The Trilogy] : Any Good?

I've would see that as a continuity problem. People *should* react to that sort of thing.

Sequel to 300 on the way

How about a film wherein scavengers pick through the corpses of the 300 and their 700 allies looking for wealth. Or would that be redundant?

    Death of the LGS

I don't have a FLGS. I don't even have a LGS. I make special trips three or four times a year to GS in my era though. Mostly to seek out discount and used gaming books. Buying online is just so much cheaper and convenient. The truly sad part is that I live in the largest city in my state.

[Trailer] The X-Files: I Want to Believe

I can still remember the first episode. It was on after some show I liked (don't even remember what that show was). I hadn't heard *anything* about X-Files at all. I just started watching it cold. I loved it. Made me think of a better version of the Nightstalker. I watched it religiously for...

Ever quit a gaming group because of another player?

That'll make the Holidays awkward... I've never quit a group. I've kicked a few players out of groups I ran because of both play style and personality issues.

What Do You Do to Support Your FLGS?

I don't have a FLGS any longer. When I did I bought things there even though I could have gotten them online. Now I buy around 95% of my new gaming books online. I make special trips a few times a year to gaming stores in my area though, mostly looking for used or discounted items.

    The Incredible Hulk

My wife and I saw it last night. We both liked it quite a bit. Though we both thought Iron man was better. She really liked the science guy who appears to be the future Leader. I thought Norton did a great job.

    Marketing criticisms miss the point

Here's the kicker, the claim is that it is a *specific* axe. George Washington's axe in fact. Which of course it isn't. The claim is, "Will this axe chop." Of course an axe will chop. My claim isn't that 4E isn't a fantasy game. My claim is that it isn't D&D. One is a general category of...

    The Incredible Hulk

I've heard that 70 minutes of the film was cut to bring it down to the current 114 minutes. That is a *lot* of film. The uncut DVD is going to rock.

    Marketing criticisms miss the point

If you change the structure of a gaming system enough, it ceases to be the original game any longer. That is what has happened here. 4E may have the title "D&D" on its cover, but that doesn't make it D&D. An old joke I once heard, done by a comedian claiming to own the axe that George...

Why new editions are good for the game

Except for those that have no interest in a subscription model. I would never pay for such a game. I want my gaming products printed on paper and in my hand. I don't want loads of digital content. I want Dragon and Dungeon back in PRINT. Yeah, I'm a grognard. But I've dumped more money into...

    Marketing criticisms miss the point

Because the goal of marketing is to convince your intended demographic to buy your product? In that regard, the 4E marketing team failed miserably. The poll here on EN World shows 39% of responders are not buying 4E. This poll is being taken from the core audience of D&D. The 4E marketing team...

What CAN'T you do with 4e?

What can't I do with 4E? In all seriousness, play D&D.

    What is wrong with 4E?

I think comparing 4E D&D to previous editions is fully warranted. The game is called Dungeons & Dragons. With that name comes thirty years of history. Of which I am a part as I started gaming in 1978. To call a game D&D you bring that history with you. For good or ill. I for one consider 4E to...

Now that 4e is out, are you into it or sticking with a prior edition?

I'd sticking to 3.5. Though I will eventually pick up Pathfinder's 3.75. Everything I have seen about 4E has shown me that I am not the games target market.

    Kung Fu Panda

My wife and I saw this today. We thought it was awesome. My wife was really impressed by both the style of the animation and its quality. We also both thought it was *vastly* better than Indy 4. For those that liked it, I recommend seeking out a copy of the movie -Circle of Iron-. It is...
