    Bad RPG Collecting

HoL isn't really a RPG. Its a joke played on those that play RPGs... and I own it and the supplement... :)

    Bad RPG Collecting

Where is this place? It might be worth a road trip... like a pilgrimage to suck... Sorry, but I just can't get past the sheer insanity that is Synnibarr. A game the tells the GM (or "Fate") that they *have* to play the game as written... fruit loop city... The best review of the game...

    Bad RPG Collecting

Does anyone else collect Bad RPGs? I mean just to own the stinking pile of dung? My collection (from memory): World of Synnibarr Spawn of Fashan Senzar ReichStar I'm only counting RPGs that actually saw print. Anyone else?

Games you thought you'd like and hated and games you thought you'd hate and liked

I hated Werewolf. It was the only game in that line I ever bought. It was also the first RPG I ever sold. Monte Cook's World of Darkness is good though. I really hated Castles & Crusades. I thought, "Cool, that old 1E style!". After reading it I thought, "Now that I dwell on it, 3.5 is far...

    Techno-fantasy or Future/sciencefantasy settings

There are also the books, -Arsenal- and -Factory- from Perpetrated Press. -Factory- in particular has some great magical robot design rules.

    Mind Flayers and Diet

But a vampire doesn't need to kill a blood donor. A brain donor though is toast. Someone suggested the Sustenance Psionic Power.

    Mind Flayers and Diet

Mind Flayers are carnivores that primarily consume humanoid brains. The dread "brain extraction" attack. Does anyone know if they can survive on non-humanoid brains, such as animals? Essentially a "vegetarian" Mind Flayer. I am just wondering what a good aligned Mind Flayer would do to survive...

    World War Z: Announced

I guess my willingness to disbelieve is a lot lower than most folks. The things you mention do in fact bug me to no end. I see it as sloppy craftsmanship. Your mileage may vary.

    World War Z: Announced

If it matters, I don't feel that I am under a personal attack. I was however expressing my opinion. Which you are more than welcome to disagree with. Have two people ever agreed on a film?

    World War Z: Announced

It isn't a rejection of SF. I used to love SF novels and I am still a fan of SF films. A virus isn't an SF trope. It is a part and parcel of the real world. As for my education on the topic. Nothing formal. But I have read a dozen or so books on the subject. On the structure of the virus, the...

    World War Z: Announced

A fantasy version of a virus is magic. Just call it magic and avoid the confusion. If you call something a dog, it shouldn't have wings and fly. A virus should behave like a virus. Magic can do anything it darn well pleases.

    World War Z: Announced

Not true. I am an avid movie fan. I just want movies that make sense. If you want to make a fantasy movie, make a fantasy movie. If you invoke actual, real world elements such as a virus, it should behave like an actual, real world virus. If movies such as -I Am Legend-, -28 Days Later- or...

    World War Z: Announced

If you base a story line in the real world, I want it to behave like things do in the real world. While zombies are fantasy, a virus is not. I expect a virus to function like they do in the real world. Base the story line in D&D or Star Wars and i will be much less picky. Put it in my backyard...
