I thought this was strange too. As has been pointed out before, Take 20 was a shortcut to something that could be done already. However, I was surprised to see Take 10 still in the PHB, which I have far more trouble explaining to players.

The Rogue was the one who fell in during our game. I played the Human Fighter, and I just knocked the lantern out of the way before charging over the sarcophagus. The dwarf started far back, so it took her a while to make it up to the fight.

If I understood correctly, 50% of the women you played with enjoyed it? It's been my experience that it's not a male/female difference, it's a taste/style thing. I've run minis intensive games in the past, and it seemed like there were members of both sexes that either enjoyed or didn't enjoy...

26, can't really say when I started playing since I grew up going to science fiction conventions and started going to the gaming room as soon as I was able. Everyone in my D&D groups are in their 20's, though I also have friends in their 40's that are looking forward to 4e for their own groups.

I would for sure. I'm most interested in finding out what replaced them, and why. (And then I can use the original names on my character sheet)

I'm working on that right now for my 3.5 finale game this Sunday. But even using mostly out-of-the-box MM creatures, I still have to cross-reference spells, feats, and abilities that are elsewhere. Thus my prep work is consisting of having to copy and paste spells into one document for each...

I thought someone had said that your favored class gives extra HP per level, but I don't have a source, so could be wrong.

I'm buying all 3 books from my FLGS. They had some good bonuses by preordering through them, plus they're doing a Midnight launch party. However, I think that'll be the three books, and not a gift set.

The preview of Rituals is scheduled for Wed 05/28. So at least that gives you a week to decide.

Agreed. I tend to ignore encumbrance rules anyway, but I know that's not the solution for everyone. I hope the rules are a happy middle.
