It might not be the reason they put out the survey, but you never ignore market data just because it isn't what you were looking for, from a business perspective if it could and likely will effect sales you don't just ignore it, you pay attention.

That is not logical, because ignoring that feed back because it's not what you want to hear has consequences in terms of sales and backlashes and other headaches.

I just thought this would be interesting in antipation of the FR books, where they said they referred to the setting as a region of regions or something along those lines. So like Old Empires Region (which in 5e is a mix of pre 4e Old Kingdoms region and he's Empires of the Ambalar Sea region...

I think that is what they planned, how it panned out us very different and they will see that in the feed back, lore matters alot more for setting based subclasses then Core or generic book subclasses and this true for other player options & monsters.

I agree, but suspect it's already too late, I think they've committed themselves to PKs being one of the new Faerun wide factions and thay it will come up in the Fallbacks: Dealing With Dragons novel.

And that is the problem, lore is deeply tied to this subclass with major changes and no context, they should have given us some context as to how a largely anti dragon military national military force became a global dragon force, that is a huge change with no explanation.

Until we get the context & lore, we can only go on historical lore.

People Saud the same thing about a big proper Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book, yet here we are. It's always possible.
