D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

Spelljammer is way too big to put in that DLC, even just Realmspace us really big. I think your Underdark idea is more likely, or another region of Faerun, but I struggle to figure out what region of Faerun would justify 7 Species? Kara Tur is huge, 10 regions, although most are a single...

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

I increasingly think the 3rd DLC will be a Species of "book" given it has 7 species. Probably lore for those 7 species plus MoM species that aren't in the PHB. Maybe something on Spelljammer species too maybe.

D&D 5E (2024) Pact Of Chain Warlock is really powerful now.

You mean Prince of Canada? 🤣🤪

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

What were his ideas on how it should be done?

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

So like Minsc's guide to the Unapproachable East?

    D&D General Kara Tur 5e

Other publishers make millions like Piazo I think, not many though. But only D&D makes hundreds of millions of dollars.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Not coming THIS YEAR, this about next year & the year after that.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

I mean they did say the 3rd DLC would be announced soon, so maybe there will be another D&D Director or D&D Celelebration last August, early September?

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

Because it's stuff that clearly doesn't fit the style and nature of the books in question.

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

Yeah I figured they were long shots, that's why I also suggested Laerakond, designed by Ed Greenwood himself, it would allow him to participate in a way that gives him more freedom. Plus zero cultural consultants needed, it doesn't need an enormous word count, and Ed can put whatever Species...

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

I love the Unapproachable East, very Conan like, if Conan was more high fantasy.

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

I still say all of this points to purpose built DLCs, not expanded left overs, but beyond what I have already pointed to, I have no way to prove that until WotC confirms or denies it. And I think if it goes well there will certainly be more DLCs.

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

Except if you look at the two known DLCs that are too niche too fit your theory.

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

Except this isn't overflow material at all. They made it clear that that material too niche to ever be considered the two books. There was never any way Astarion's Book of Hunger was ever considered for those books, I mean it has what 18 vampire themed feats, way too focused on a niche subject...

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

That would make alit if sense, but what would the seven Underdark Species be, given drow are already in the PHB? Like Deep Gnomes would be a given. Chitines maybe? Really out there idea, playable Driders! Maybe the Gloamlings come back?

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

I should have made that clearer. Arcane Age as you say from 2e, but this upcoming DLC for 5.24e Forgotten Realms settings books seems like a return to the 2e subsetting, which could be just the beginning. The 3rd DLC also be set during the Arcane Age in another major nation or it could be the...

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Arcane_Age_series Netheril: Empire of Magic - Wikipedia. The Arcane Age Subsetting started with a book called Netheril: Empire of Magic and it expanded from there, but it all started with Netheril. It got novels too, haven't read them yet...

D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

Rereading the Realms lore on Amethyst Dragons, they might be the cause of the multiverse angle. It does make me wonder if ALL 8 factions have spread beyond Faerun to the multiverse? I mean Hazlan in Ravenloft does have Red Wizards I presume, beyond the Dark Lord. The Zulkir of Conjuration would...
