D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

There were also tribes of Orcs who worshipped Eldath as well. Plus the mysterious world that the Grey Orcs came from that had powerful divine magic. And the Orcs/Hobgoblins/Kobolds/etc... from Zakhara where they are simply integrated into regular Zakharan society.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

I'm curious if it's just PHB2024 & HoF domains or like Forge, Order, Twilight, Nature, Tempest Domains, Grave/Death as well?

The Chosen of the Dead Three, Gortash, Orin, and the other one. That alone will help sell the book. Also mentioned at least one faction in addition offering magic items, housing, NPC Helpers, offers a Dragon's Egg. Give you three guesses to at least one of them. The listed 42 Gods have Epic...

This would be the beer of choice of Cap'n Jack Sparrow as it has rum in it. On the other hand the sea monster might give him flashback

D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

I get the likely reasons by the PDK would expand beyond Cormyr to the rest of Faerun as a consequence of Cormyr expanding in 4e only to contract in 5e, but the Multiverse angle I don't get.

D&D 5E (2024) Backgrounds in the Forgotten Realms Books

Genie Touched might drill down to Calimshan, but I think it's fine for Amn & Tethyr as well, even ironically Baldur's Gate with its Little Calimshan. The Spellfire novels I believe started in the Dalelands, but moved later on to other parts of the Heartlands. Most of the Swordcoast...

D&D 5E (2024) Backgrounds in the Forgotten Realms Books

According to Roll20 there are 8 backgrounds tied to factions and 10 to regions. So I guess Shadowmasters Exile belongs to the Unapproachable East region. Ice Fisher could be Icewind Dale or just as easily The Cold Lands.

D&D General Wargamer Article: DnD's going all in on fanservice, and I'm nervous for the Forgotten Realms books

https://www.wargamer.com/dnd/forgotten-realms-fanservice I really don't think these books are going be about what Karlach had for Breakfast, it's most just different narrator voices, art, and maybe some stats, not overly focused on the characters themselves, it's mostly just to add flavour...

D&D General I finally like non-Tolkien species for PCs

To be far, there are parts of the Forgotten Realms like that. Kara Tur had very few "demihumans" like Elves and stuff although that appears to be changing. The Old Empires Region had more Tieflings and Aasimar then Elves, Dwarves, and Halflings, although to a lesser degree in Chessenta.

    D&D General Kara Tur 5e

The question was about Kara Tur, not should we do a completely new and unrelated OA focused just on fantasy Japan, THEY DID THAT ALEADY IN 3E, it didn't work out and they dumped that setting.
