    D&D 5E (2014) Attribute progression

I played in a three year OD&D campaign that ended a couple years ago. We had the option to attempt to level up an attribute when our characters gained a level. We picked one, rolled 3d6. If it was higher than the existing score, that attribute went up by one. It worked very well. Rolling 3d6...

D&D General Oddball mentions of D&D in popular culture.

Jim Butcher has the werewolves (and Harry Dresden) play D&D in an early Dresden book. Jim Butcher was/is a gamer.

Can you name a good fantasy TTRPG that's not D&D?

FYI: Lords of Gossamer and Shadow also has powerful NPC's. It expands on many of the Amber game's rules/powers, too.

How do you store and carry your dice?

I used a yellow Crayola crayon container but it wasn't big enough. So I ordered the larger purple one but its top doesn't screw on--the top falls off and my dice just fall out. ☹️

    Moving characters between campaigns

We had four or five regular DM's when 1E was going strong. Everyone moved characters between DM's. Until JF implemented his "kill over half the PC's with unnoticeable traps and no-saves death spells, then give the rest wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many high level magic items and millions of gold...

D&D General Dumb Reasons To Get Booted From a Group.

How? Please explain. I should note that the DM told us when he put the map down that we could only see our immediate surroundings and not the entire mapped area.

I'm glad the cartoons aren't considered canon. I was getting tired of having to wear this at every game:

D&D General Dumb Reasons To Get Booted From a Group.

I was in a group where during the first session our character's were separated in "the sewers" aka "a dungeon." The DM displayed the whole map for us and pointed out where our three separate groups were. One guy didn't like being in his section and said something like "I go left, then right...

D&D 5E (2014) What level did your MOST RECENT campaign get to?

Level 5, interrupted by pandemic lockdown. That campaign appears to be over. The DM is currently running something completely different for most of the same players. But I ran 40+ sessions of Amber Diceless during the lockdown. That campaign finished a couple weeks ago.

Is killing a Goblin who begs for mercy evil?

DMDavid has an article which talks about the dilemma of killing "evil" races' children here: Strong Moral Dilemmas in D&D and the Unwanted Kind that Keeps Appearing Personally, I don't run or play RPG's to encounter this sort of problem. It just isn't fun for me so I don't put it in the games I...
