5e has some 4e a little 2e but a whole heap of 3e in it... TBH I feel like if you took the lables the dates and everything away and asked an expert to group them they would assume 3e evolved into 5e that evolved into 4e... TBF they would also never think 1e/2e were linked to this set of games at all

yeah I watch a bunch of historians on youtube and tic tok that also game (TTRPG and/or Videogame) that complain that the most effective and most used combo is so under represented.

yeah, if weapon mastery is a level 1-3 fighter feature (or martial or warrior set what ever) I just see that making the dip more likely unless you give them things that scale... I can't wait for the 'hexblade 13/divine soul sorcerer 3/paladin 2/fighter 2' builds that will pop up so you can cast...

I mean we have all been debating that since the playtest started... right now I feel they have hit "worst of both worlds" territory's but we all see these things different in general it was pointed out I like even number editions better, so I am going to think it may be GOOD they are not...

this is an interesting take... so you are saying caster supremacy is advertised to new players right in the PHB? this is why as the edition aged we (my group) have found it gets worse... becuase as system mastery increases the casters just get better and better 1 I hate that word 2 I have seen...

I don't like 5e that much... it is what I call "Our compromise" edition and we are starting to see the same flaw as we did at the mid point to end of 3.5 (and we is the normal people I play with). If there isn't a 6e sooner or later I forsee our group leaving D^D

and what does "this version is for the 5th edition books" doesn't tell you that it's 5e...

and they DID call them 3 and 4e just not on the front cover (just like people try to claim the current oens don't say 5e when they do)

but we already have light weapon off hand attacks not taking the bonus action, now weapon properties that from what I have seen leaked is always on but fighters (maybe all melee types) can use better or more or I very much agree... wizards might as well have spells known equal to level+int mod...

someone on here did out that 5e is between 17e and 21e depending on how you count things

I spend a lot more the 30 per year on this game WITHOUT rebuying the core books are they though? some I do some I don't I only begrudge them trying to have there cake and eat it too... they want to redifine editions so everything is canoon
