it is a way to sell phb with errata, it's standing in the middle of the road and getting hit by cars going both ways... it's enough new that it will change the current game but not enough new to revelutionize the game

thats the thing,,, something new built from the bones of what came before that re engages andd rejuvinates the player base scares them... its to hard

The thing I find (so maybe we agree) is non casters of equal level of optimization to a caster both throwing damage the non caster will at best have a small boost... but no non caster can ever have the versistility of a caster

right but totally rewriting major sectons doens't count if you don't adjust the base math... so not a new edition or version I guess... TBH I almost feel like WotC is trolling ME, since I said I would try to call it a new version they are all like "Nah not a version either just a baisic...

I would argue it works in small groups but doesn't scale well (join a local commun and as long as you don't by mistake end up in a cult you will do great... got to a communist country and well... not so good)

I would rather you ditch sorcerer... warlock is the better class

tasha's had other ways to spend sorcery pts...I think one was a magical bonus to rolls. I think that was a better way to go

This reminds me of an old 2e DM I had that made a house rule that all crossbow hits forced a system shock roll or die... and he would then get mad when we all had crossbows

we used empower and quicken a lot in 3e/3.5 and even now those are the most common ones I see people multi grab

you should be able to build on it and make your own plane at 8th level spells

spells that shut down enemies need to not be in teir 1. charm, and hold person, tasha's laugh and sleep should all be moved up to 3rd level.
