[Goodman/Blackdirge] Critter Cache II: Prehistoric Beasts released!

Thanks. It’s always nice to hear when people enjoy your work. :) Yeah, something along the lines of "legendary monsters" is definitely going to happen. And apparently, I might be in serious trouble if I don’t do a Critter Cache on plant monsters. ;) Next up is Animals & Beasts, which features...

    What's new with the GSL?

Thanks Morrus and I talked about doing a 4E update for the books, but since demons and devils are not in the GSL, there's really no way to do that. I've got a couple of ideas kicking around about the series, but ultimately, the future of Metamorphosis lies with EN Publishing, since they own the...

    What's new with the GSL?

That's good to hear. There is more 4E goodness on the way. :) BD

    Sellswords of Punjar

The adventure is written for 5 1st-level characters; however, the adventure does contain advice on how to run the adventure with fewer players. Basically, you'll need to reduce the number of opponents in each encounter, and ensure that encounters don't run together as often (one of the major...

    Critter Cache 2: Prehistoric Beasts

Yup, that's why I went with both names. There are those, like Joe, that want the scientific names; and those, like yourself, that want fantasy names. Both are perfectly valid opinions, and I wanted to cater to both. BD

[Goodman/Blackdirge] Critter Cache II: Prehistoric Beasts released!

Hey all, Just FYI, JoeGKushner has posted a review of Critter Cache: Prehistoric Beasts. Prehistoric Beasts Review BD

    Critter Cache 2: Prehistoric Beasts

Thanks for the review, Joe. I tell you, coming up with all those "video game" names was a chore. Personally, I like the standard scientific names, but I know there are people who prefer the newer, more fantastic names. I tried to cater to both, and I'm glad you noticed that in your review...

    What's new with the GSL?

WTF! Please tell me that is some kind of joke. For the love of god, please tell me that isn't a serious musical/video endeavor. I'm begging you; restore my faith in humanity.

    What's new with the GSL?

I can answer your last two questions. Quite a bit; speaking for Goodman Games and Blackdirge Publishing. We're averaging between 4 and 6 new 4E releases a month in both print and PDF. There's a whole list of upcoming 4E releases from Goodman/Blackdirge right here: Upcoming 4E Releases Most...

[Goodman/Blackdirge] Critter Cache II: Prehistoric Beasts released!

Okay, it seems there is more interest in plant critters than I first thought. :) Being a big paleontology buff, I'm quite familiar with the chalicotheres. I'm kind of kicking myself for not including an animal like that in the next Critter Cache. You know, I'd love to do something like that...

Venture 4TH - Pact of the Vermin Lords

Wow, great idea for line. There are so many great themes out there just aching to be warlock pacts. Vermin is a nice way to kick it off. This is defintely one of those "wish-i'd-thought-of-it-first" products. ;) BD

    Scoops for the news page

Morrus, I just wanted to say great job on keeping up with the front-page scoops. I know I've sent you a bunch of press releases over the last month or so, and everyone of them has made it to the front page in a timely fashion. I know it's thankless work, so I thought I'd throw a bit of...

[Blackdirge/Goodman] Paths to Prestige: Centurion released!

Blackdirge Publishing and Goodman Games bring you the next product in the Paths to Prestige line for the Fourth Edition Dungeons & Dragons game. Paths to Prestige: Centurion presents the new centurion paragon path for warlords. The centurion is a front-line commander inspired by the Roman...

[Goodman/Blackdirge] Critter Cache II: Prehistoric Beasts released!

Good suggestions. I particularly like the legendary monsters idea; there are a lot of things you could do with that. I want to do plant monsters, but I'm not sure if there's enough interest to warrant an entire Critter Cache on the subject. I might roll that into another larger release...

[Goodman/Blackdirge] Critter Cache II: Prehistoric Beasts released!

I've got no complaints with that. :) You can count on a good mix of levels for each installment, as I want the product to be useful for DMs running games at various levels. What would you like to see in upcoming Critter Caches? What do you think the 4E game is still missing, monster-wise...

[Goodman/Blackdirge] Critter Cache II: Prehistoric Beasts released!

Thanks. The first three Critter Caches do focus primarily on the missing elements from the Monster Manual; however, upcoming releases will attempt to expand on what's already there. For instance, I just finished writing a Critter Cache based on the fey, and while it does feature some missing...

[Goodman/Blackdirge] Critter Cache II: Prehistoric Beasts released!

Well, there are three different apes in the book, and I guess your character could strap some packs to a dire ape...if he doesn't get eated first. ;) BD

[Goodman/Blackdirge] Critter Cache II: Prehistoric Beasts released!

I'm not sure what an "engargiya" is.:) However, the next Critter Cache does feature animals you could find in an African wilderness that can be used as mounts. The rhino, the elephant, and dire eagle spring to mind. BD

[Goodman Games] Blackdirge's Dungeon Denizens Preview: Hollow Ones

Trust me, the hollow one entry is not indicative of the rest of the book. ;) However, any sizable monster book is gonna have some errata. We'll likely post any errata for the book on the Goodman site. BD

[Goodman Games] Blackdirge's Dungeon Denizens Preview: Hollow Ones

I like the flavor of the immediate reaction better. The point is that you actually gain access to a hollow one's mind (complete your action), which is what dazes you. It works fine for the other hollow ones, but not so much for the hollow spawn since it's a minion. Don't worry, I'll get it...
