ZWEIHÄNDER Reforged: Talking With Daniel D. Fox (World of Game Design)

Indeed. By that logic half the hobby would be a knock-off. The thing is you can't patent a rule system. As long as there is no non infringement on Games Workshops Old World you can make such a rule book. Also by now Zweihänder is its own thing with its own fan base. And also there is still...

Tomb Raider Licensed RPG Announced by Evil Hat Publishing

Meh news for me. Despite several tries and some really nice books on my shelves I just can't get those rule systems to work for me.

Shadow of the Weird Wizard Is Finally Here!

Ah a masterclass effort in "How too make a Fighter look interesting with half a page". I tend to forget that Mr. Schwalb created Shadow of the Demon Lord after being involve in writing D&D 5E. :)

Shadow of the Weird Wizard Is Finally Here!

I am quite sure that people are aware that this is just book 1. The index is in the drivetru preview. Also most people will google a game first to do minimal research before shelling out money for it. Give me a moment to google something (base research so to say).... Shadowdark 13.249 backers...

Shadow of the Weird Wizard Is Finally Here!

I still don't really care. D&D could do this as it has the resources. I doubt that Mr. Schwalb has them. He is probably hard working on book 2. This is basically an early preview of what is to come. The real release of the game is when it is finished and send send to the backers. That you can...

Shadow of the Weird Wizard Is Finally Here!

I don't understand your argument ? Games the release their core rulebooks in a staggered way is nothing special at all. Happens all the time from D&D 3E to the lasted Rolemaster edition. That business as usual. What is the problem ? Worst case you wait a few months and buy it then. As far as I...

Shadow of the Weird Wizard Is Finally Here!

Yes on that I would immediately agree. The drivethru preview alone is enough to tell me this. The grey background alone makes me dislike it.

Shadow of the Weird Wizard Is Finally Here!

What a strange thread. :ROFLMAO: How about some discussion about the game itself ? I mean the first thing I did was actually google "Shadow of the Weird Wizard". First result was the link to the kickstarter for the game. The second result was the drivetru link. With all due respect to...

Player Core and Gamemaster Core Remastered Review

I wait for the German translation...... ;) Ulisses is already working on it as far as I know.

Monte Cook Games & Free League Lead The TTRPG Crowdfunding Charts!

Should I understand this as a: Go counting crowdfundings and add up Euros ? ;)

Monte Cook Games & Free League Lead The TTRPG Crowdfunding Charts!

Kickstarter and Backerkit ? I miss www.gameontabletop.com here. French Black Book Editions and German Ulisses Spiele do most of their crowdfunding on that platform. A quick count brought me in Ulisses case (if I didn't miscalculate) to over 7,5 Million Euro.

Player Core and Gamemaster Core Remastered Review

Shrug. You call it update I call it a 5.5E. Doesn't really matter. Its a pretty standard product refreshment to extend the life cycle of a product. Nothing more and nothing less. I am rather jaded with topic to be honest. I am old enough to have seen the product cycle happen with four D&D...

Player Core and Gamemaster Core Remastered Review

I seriously doubt that. 5E is already in its product refreshment phase and doing its version of a 5.5 version or whatever WotC marketing calls it. 5E will go the way all RPG editions go: Either the game itself stops or there will be a new edition. It just normal life circle of a product. The...

Player Core and Gamemaster Core Remastered Review

Unlikely. There is a better chance that 4E gets a revival then 3E/3.5E/PF1. Simply because there already exists more material for those three system variants then a single person can play in their lifetime. The amount of products that were released in the D20 era is staggering. It has run its...

Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse Review

Sadly my level isn't high enough (yet) to cast "Power Word: Game Company shaking disapproval". But I did back myself some delicious Hexxen 1733 goddies today and thereby did my part in at least keeping the local German Pen & Paper RPG economy alive. Now that I have hopefully dispelled your...

Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse Review

Well there is D&D and then there is the rest of the RPG community. All books WotC publishes sell in far higher numbers then any other RPG books. It has the official D&D logo on its covers and it has numbers that other publisher can only dream off pretty much regardless of the quality of the book...

Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse Review

They don't. They are maybe or lets say arguable when it comes to general releases. But when it comes to supporting a specific setting they are the low end when I compare it with other publishers. It admittedly something that really annoys me. Setting support is where the gold is for me. All...

Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse Review

Do I dare to ask what went wrong with that one or will it derail the topic ? (And I should mention that I grew up with old White Wolf stepping into minefields.......:p)

Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse Review

Whereas probably own more German language 5E TDS books then official WotC D&D 5E books exist. (That one might be hyperbole. I would need to actually count but it would be a tight race) But I think Hexxen managed about 27 hardcover books in the last five years or so with its first edition...
