D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

Nice. I wasn’t aware of xoth. Nice for me that it’s d20, as I run 3.5e. From TSR Archives, it sounds like Red Sonja Unconquered has a Hyboria map, but in 32 pages probably not room for much more setting material. http://www.tsrarchive.com/add/add-rs1.html

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

Good stuff! I like the concept of collecting many settings into a Greyhawk centric multiverse. As far as gates go, the ones that matter in my Greyhawk: - Gate near the Keep on the Borderlands, in the Yatil foothills NE of Thornward in my campaigns, from an arch to a stone circle near the...

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

I was thinking maybe Hyboria could be Gonduria, but the TSR Conan & Red Sonja adventures are not on PDF, expensive, and probably don’t have much source material. I was surprised to learn TSR also made an unrelated Conan RPG ~1985. Same issues, except they do apparently have some pages about...

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

I haven’t done alternate Primes, but I think about other planets in the PMP. Before taking on the Nodes in TOEE, my players did research. One found a book (all handwritten in my Greyhawk) about travels to other worlds including references to FR, Middle Earth, and Nentir Vale. One PC (of a...

D&D 5E (2014) So, I kind of want to stay with 2014 rules. What are my longterm options?

I just assumed. Oh well, all the editions are available, so maybe.

D&D 5E (2014) So, I kind of want to stay with 2014 rules. What are my longterm options?

I have DM’d 3.5e since 2003. What I do: I have a half dozen or more PHB’s. I sometimes give them to players, or buy them a used one. I have unopened backup DMG and MM from when they were re-released. No need for them yet. You can get physical copies from many places. I favor Noble Knight...

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

In my Greyhawk campaigns: Suel pantheon = Wee-Jas etc. + Norse (all pantheons from AD&D Deities & Demigods). Thor is pretty popular with players, and Tyr, Heimdall, and Odin come up too. Baklunish = Xan Yae etc. + Greek. Flannae = Rao etc. + American Indian + Sumerian. The Coyote trickster...

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

If folks didn’t know, Original Adventures Reincarnated did TOEE for 5e, in their usual way with the original version in AD&D, research and stories about it, and a 5e conversion. The 5e version also completed the Nodes, and added additional nearby content.

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

Also 3 instances (in 42 years) for me: - In D2 Descent into the Earth, near TPK. My cleric of Heimdall (Suel have Norse deities in our Greyhawk) was the last survivor of an ambush by illithids. He prayed. Rolled 00. DM had everyone go back to status prior to the ambush, with knowledge they...

    D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Dungeon Master's Guide's Greyhawk Map

Bearskin Map is in Dragon Annual 1, I believe 1996. Chainmail map is 2002 or 2003, but just western Oerik, so probably not relevant. I was thinking of “official” non-Flanaess Oerth maps. LGG Insert Map is 2000. Insert in the corner of the map in Living Greyhawk. Definitely all post 1980’s...

Keep on the Borderland and no healing...?

I agree with you points, but this is a bit harsh, as it could lead to character deaths. Maybe have some ways to figure it out before the “we really need healing” scene? Like Nystul’s Magic Aura times out? My version of the Keep has multiple clerics, and yes, some evil folks.

Subcontinent, says I. :) Doesn’t the full quote mentions it’s not known what they are. Not “officially”. That’s the beauty of Greyhawk - DIY. I agree.

D&D General The D&D Cartoon is set in Faerun since when?

Someone was complaining about that onENworld. I see their point, but Deities & Demigods was full of lots of real world religions. No monotheistic ones, though. The “American Indian”, “Chinese”, “Japanese” pantheons, at least, also include things current people believe. And I’m partial to...

    D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Dungeon Master's Guide's Greyhawk Map

It’s what Anna Meyer’s does, so it’s as close to canon as there is on its placement for “most” fans.

    D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Dungeon Master's Guide's Greyhawk Map

Yup, but: 1) Last I remember, R4 (a source for I12) had the Greyhawk references, but they didn’t make a lot of sense and weren’t all that serious as it was an RPGA tournament module. I12 was a compilation of Mentzer’s R tournament handout modules, but I believe without the Greyhawk references...

    D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Dungeon Master's Guide's Greyhawk Map

The Greyhawk campaign is set in the Flanaess sub continent, the eastern end of Oerik. Most of planet Oerth’s landmass is in Oerik + a very close by continent about the size of the Flanaess called Hepmonaland. Nothing outside the Flanaess and Hepmonaland was developed or is even agreed upon...
